Introduction

Hey dudes, my name Aikairi, and I play on the North America (or most commonly known as NA) server. I played League of Legends for almost a year now. The lane I main is MidLane, and the champion most commonly used when i'm playing MidLane is Katarina.

Anyways, welcome to my guide for Udyr! This is my third guide so don't expect something really fabulous or amazing, in addition i'm Silver 5, but climbing up very quicky. But I will try my hardest to be a senpai and give information about Udyr to you. :)

Udyr, the Spirit Walker is a fighter. He haves very high clear speed and his AoE damage is really high, making him somewhat useful in teamfights, with his stuns. His Turtle Stance keeps him durable, his Phoenix allows him to make damage, his Bear Stance allows him to be a Rammus/ Hecarim.

The reason why I played Udyr is because he's extremely fast and his Jungle Clear Speed is really absurd. You might take longer than usual to master him if you're new. But, as your senpai, I will tell you how to become a better Udyr. ;)

\(*-*)/ Please comment on my guide, and see if there's any improvement. I will see the comment as soon as possible and try to adjust the things you said. Thank you very much if you did comment on my guide. Also, please vote fairly! :) \(*-*)/

Pros and Cons

Pros

+ Blazing Stampede makes it annoying if the other team to shut you down.
+ Trinity Force boosts all of his abilities.
+ His build is not straightforward and can be built in alot of ways.
+ Very tanky and deals alot of damage if used and built right.
Udyr is definitely very fun, he's not really good in the meta, but still very strong. You can solo turrets with him with the right items, and 1 v 2. He's also very good at splitpushing.
Cons

- No Ultimate.
- Blazing Stampede only stuns 1 target, and Tenacity and further reduce it's usefulness.
- Very easy to kite.
- Dosen't have a gap-closer.
Udyr definitely have cons, he haves no ultimate, and his Bear Stance only stuns 1 target, which means he won't be quite good in teamfights unlike Annie and others. He's also really easy to kite as he haves no gap closer.

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

Greater Mark of Attack Speed - So you proc your Phoenix Stance alot faster.
Greater Seal of Armor So you can survive the camps, and won't die. You can also switch this for Health Seals if you like.
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction - To proc your Bridge Between, and have your stances up faster.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - So you won't totally die by AP Casters, the reason I get Scaling is because you won't be facing any until late game.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed - So you proc your Phoenix Stance alot faster.

Summoners

Teleport
After channeling for 3.5 seconds, teleports your champion to allied minion, turret or ward.
This is quite useful as it can be used in many ways, it can be used to get back to the jungle, or secretly teleporting to a ward in bot lane to get kills. Or Spltipush (xpeke). But for a cost, you don't have any gapclosers.

Ignite
Deals 390-1000 true damage (depending on champion level) to target monster or enemy minion.
This is very useful, you can use it to steal a objective or a buff (Ancient Golem, Elder Lizard, Dragon, Baron Nashor), or clear the jungle quicker. You should always get this when you're jungling.

Alternatives

Flash
Teleports your champion a short distance towards your cursor's location.
You should get this when you can use Flash to "jump" over a wall, or secure a kill or escape. It also combos well with most Summoner Spells.

Ignite
Ignites target enemy champion, dealing 70-410 true damage (depending on champion level) over 5 seconds, grands you vision of the target, and reduce healing effects on them for the duration.
Most of the time you should always get this. It haves alot of good uses. If you're going for a 1 v 1, this is your buddy. You can use it to secure a kill, and such.

Exhaust
Exhausts target enemy champion, reducing their Movement Speed and Attack Speed by 30% for 2.5 seconds and reduces their damage dealt by 50% for the duration.
This is actually quite useful if you're against a Tryndamere, or Zed as it will reduce their Attack Speed and Damage, allowing you to gain the advantage.

I get Wingborne Storm first as it boosts my damage to the camps alot added with the leash I get. Then, I get Wilding Claw as it gives me AttackSpeed, first, I activate my Wilding Claw and then switch back to Wingborne Storm so I get the Attack Speed Bonus, I get my Blazing Stampede at level 4 so I can gank. I max Wingborne Storm for better AoE Clear, then Blazing Stampede so I can have alot of movement speed to chase, then Iron Mantle so I have durability in Teamfights, and put the remaining points into Wilding Claw.

Skill Explanation

Monkey's Agility
Entering a stance grants Udyr 10% Attack Speed and 5 Movement Speed for a short duration. This effect can be stacked up to 3 times.[/color]
This stance is one of the reasons Udyr's clear is so fast. Combined with your Wilding Claw and a 3stacked Bridge Between, your clear with Wingborne Storm is sky rocketing.

Tiger Stance
Tiger Stance: Activation - Udyr's Attack Speed is increased for a few seconds, and his first basic attack will deal a high amount of damage over 2 seconds. Persistent Effect - Udyr's basic attacks deal extra damage.
This stance is really important to get if you want to clear very fast in the first few levels. Wilding Claw gives you the Attack Speed you need to proc your Wingborne Storm's 3rd attack faster.

Turtle Stance
Turtle Stance: Activation - Udyr gains a temporary shield that absorbs damage.
Persistent Effect - Udyr gains Life Steal.

You should use this stance to regenerate health, and to fullfill the stacks of your Bridge Between. This is why Udyr is very tanky in fights.

Bear Stance
Bear Stance: Activation - Udyr increases Movement Speed for a short duration.
Persistent Effect - Udyr's basic attacks stun his target for 1 second. This effect cannot occur on the same target for several seconds.

You should use this stance to fullfill the stacks of your Bridge Between. You can also use this to stun targets so your teammates can use their gamebreaking skillshots or combos easily. Also use this when someone is chasing you, autoattack them, and then run like a Blazing Stampede.

Phoenix Stance
Bear Stance: Activation - Udyr increases Movement Speed for a short duration.
Phoenix Stance: Activation - Udyr unleashes pulsing waves of fire, dealing damage to nearby enemies for 5 seconds.
Persistent Effect - With the first basic attack and every third attack after, Udyr engulfs enemies in front of him with flames.

Use this when clearing camps, you can use Wilding Claw then immediately Wingborne Storm so you get the Bridge Between's attack speed, and the Wilding Claw's attack speed. Also, use this to clear huge waves of minions if you can.

Early Game

You want to start the camp which is nearest to your ally's Bot Lane. You want to stand behind the largest monster so you can get the AoE on all the monsters. You can then do a wolf/wraith camp depending on which you started first. Then grab your other remaining buff. If you're invaded, you should get the buff (the enemy) which the enemy is taking. As in, exchanging buffs, make sure to clear both of the small monsters to get the timer. At level 4, you want to scout the map to see the ganks which are available, when ganking, you want to open up with your Blazing Stampede, then Wilding Claw, then Wingborne Storm and repeat. If not, continue farming until 450 gold, then back and get your Madred's Razor, teleport to the nearest turret to the camps, then farm up once you have enough for Spirit Stone, and then back again for Wriggle's Lantern.

Mid Game

This is where you should have your Feral Flare and Trinity Force by now, you want to splitpush lanes and gank around. Ward the Dragon and Baron Nashor so you can keep track of enemy movements and what they're doing. You should definitely try to shut down enemies if they're too fed as you have Blazing Stampede for that.

Late Game

As Late Game comes, you should ward the Baron Nashor alot as it can mean a win or lose. Push with your teammates and try to win teamfights, focus the enemy ADC. If you win a teamfight, try to get a objective, whether it be Baron Nashor or a enemy turret. Anything works as long as it's worth. You want to end the game soon as Udyr's late game isn't the strongest. You should never be alone splitpushing without wards at this point.
