Xin Zhao Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
lol hi, first of all, I would like to clarify that I am NOT a troll and this is a perfectly reasonable build for Xin Zhao, my favorite champion. Now there are three ways of playing him, either as a jungler, top, or kill lane support! But as most of you know, Xin Zhao is basically just an op fcker -.- so let's go straight to the point of how this build can carry low elo or pre-ranked games and make the already op xin *** even more op.
You might ask, who dafaq are you???
I am XPOWER666X, currently in silver (doesn't mean im a noob >:( ,I'm just inexperienced.) Unlike most other players, I actually have a talent for building and this is why I am here to share this amazing build with you. Please do not be mean :( as I am new to this community and this is my first guide after all >.< The reason I am not able to spend much time on LoL is because I can only play in holidays as the boarding school I live in blocks every game on the internet. But I do try to get the most out of the holidays and evaluate myself skill wise.
Greater Mark of Lethality
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
Masteriesdamage and crit Xin Zhao here, he needs more points in the offensive tree to help him deal more damage. I've put 7 points in defense to increase his chances of survival, and points into Double-Edged Sword , Spell Weaving , Blade Weaving , Warlord and Havoc for the maximum damage output. <3
Three Talon Strike first for the maximum butt hurt. Eachtalon strike will hurt significantly more and make every hit count.
Playing it safe
Battle Cry first for more sustain as it heals Xin Zhao every third basic attack. It also increases Xin Zhao 'sattack speed a lot when activated and helps to knock up enemies quicker when using the Q and W combo. It is useful when the enemy is do more damage than you or also has sustain like Lee Sin or Nasus.
Your skill distribution may defer from mine depending on the situation but you should always learn Q if you feel you need more damage and "pokes" (pun intended, lol) and learn W for more attack speed and sustain.
WTF IS THIS BUILD?!?!?!??
AND FINALLY.......I will explain why I have come up with this damage build on Xin Zhao. Before I reached lvl30, I didn't believe in tanks, so basically I built damage for every champion I use. By trial and error, I have discovered the awesomeness and pure op-ness of CRITICAL DAMAGE, you should know if you have played Master Yi before and you should also know how much damage Xin Zhao's Three Talon Strike does. When I tried building crits on Xin Zhao, I discovered the hidden truth and potential behind him. Pretty soon, I mastered this build and begin killing people who are unfortunate enough to fall in the range of my Audacious Charge, obliterating anyone in sight. Sadly, there is a thing called "armor" in LoL and that put the end too my reign of crits after lvl30 :(
Undeniably, one of the most powerful and useful item in the game. You cannot play an ad carrying role without having this item. The Bloodthirster gives 100 attack damage and 18% lifesteal at full stack, granting Xin Zhao tons of damage and sustain. I would buy this as my first item as it increases my ad massively and also gives me much more sustain in lane.
Xin Zhao needs his attack speed and crits, what better item to get than the classic good ol' Phantom Dancer? It gives 50% attack speed, 30% critical strike chance, and let you walk through units that means you will no longer be hindered by minions!! How awesome is that? The additional attack speed will also mean more lifesteal and heal every third attack.
Who plays crits without Infinity Edge?!?!? not only does it increase critical damage by 250% but it also gives 75 attack damage and 25% critical strike chance which means Xin Zhao will now have 55% critical strike chance, making at least one of the Three Talon Strike critically strike.
This side item is nice on Xin Zhao as it gives an additional 10 armor penetration and another 20% ciritcal strike chance, it is also a back up item which can be used when you need speed to chase down an enemy or more attack speed to "poke" the enemy down if you find yourself losing the battle. (ha ha, get it? poke?)DO NOT make this a main item this item or replace as it requires all 4 items to become 1 (it's kinda like a bird's wings, without it, the bird can't fly)it is merely a minor item that makes the build whole. but without it, the build will fail, get me so far?
Why not? OP (buying this item may result in excessive damage and lifesteal, the moar the better :D)
With the attack speed that Xin Zhao has, this item is perfect for shredding the armor of enemies, reduces enemy's armor by 25% in a matter of 5 hits, which means each hit will hurt more as another 5%armor is taken away from the enemy. Also, it gives little health for more sustain in team fights.
You have armor? I don't care.
Gives nice additional damage and lifesteal. Buy it if you want more people to feel your butthurt.
Get this item to slow people and make sure they don't escape. Also make yourself less appealing to focus by being tankier (even though you are really not)
Blade of the Ruined King:
It gives more attack speed and lifesteal, making you practically undead, also useful for chasing enemies down, a good combo with Frozen Mallet
Another item that gives a balanced boost to Xin Zhao's abilities, making him stronger in everyway, not to mention the extra 10% critical strike chance :D I would consider this a must have if you decid to go full offensive, the movement speed bonus from Phantom Dancer and Trinity Force replaces boots and the new passive on Trinity Force also helps increase Xin Zhao's chance of getting a prey.
Pros :D & Cons D:
Well, it's really obvious what the pros and cons are :(
+Tons of damage
+knock up and slow
+play making ult
-Extremely vulnerable to cc
-Crits/ Item dependent
-easily focused on
-may die against tanks e.g Rammus
SUMMONER SPELLS AND HOW TO USE THEM ;)
||Always my favorite spell. What is better to ks (kill secure), make Aatrox activate his passive, and jut to deal 410 true damage just for the fun of it? IGNITE!!! Grab it now for free kills and make you teammate "love" you even more.||Ignite|
|Ghost||Feel that you are just too slow? (Of course, you didn't buy any boots!!! But you are not meant to in this build) Use this amazing spell to increase your movement speed by 9000 and land that Ignite by rushing to them like sonic the hedgehog like a bossss.||Ghost|
|Barrier||Because op in early game, surprise your enemy laner by popping the barrier just as he thinks he got first blood!!! Or use it to take in more damage when the enemy jungler comes to gank and get an easy double kill.||Barrier|
|Teleport||This spell is extremely useful when you want to gank other lanes like the ninja you are, Teleport to safety, or split push/ back door like Master Yi. When using thie spell, don't forget to buy sight wards so that you have something to teleport to. (most of your teammates will never buy them anyways -.-)||Teleport|
|Revive||Best used for the Revive Teleport combo to make your enemy regret he/she ever tried to kill you by instantly teleporting back to where you were killed.
Tips:If this tactic were to work successfully, it's best to get
Enchantment: Homeguard so that when you teleport from base, you will practically run the enemy down with your over 9000 movement speed. Also remember to buy and use sight wards
|Exhaust||Another way of saying "YOU ARE DEAD!" Can also be used to slow people when you decides to run away from the 1v5 situatioin you almost got yourself into.||Exhaust|
SUMMONER SPELLS NOT TO USE
of course it can be useful at times but if you are focused in a teamfight, your dead anyways :p
YOU ARE NOT A SUPPORT!!!!
It will be more difficult to get fed if you are jungling since you are not getting as much gold/ creeps as the laners (even with the help of the new season 4 jungler item passives). If you are underfed (as junglers usually are, unless you happen to main jungle or are good at it), you will be useless in teamfights having no damage and not tanky.
Xin Zhao is useless if you don't get his combos right.
Three Talon Strike: Q
ACTIVE: Xin Zhao's next 3 basic attacks deal bonus physical damage and reduce his other abilities' cooldowns by 1 second each. The third strike also knocks the target into the air for 1 second.
TOTAL BONUS DAMAGE: 45 / 90 / 135 / 180 / 225 (+ 60% AD)
- Main damage output
- Main cc: knock up
ACTIVE: Xin Zhao increases his attack speed for 5 seconds.
ATTACK SPEED: 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80%
- Increases attack speed massively
- heals Xin Zhao every third attack
ACTIVE: Xin Zhao charges at an enemy, dealing magic damage to all enemies within 112.5 range and slowing them for 2 seconds.
SLOW: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45%
- Gap closer
- slows target enemy
- Passive makes it reduce target enemy armor by 15% for 3 seconds
ACTIVE: Xin Zhao unleashes a sweep around him, knocking enemies back and dealing physical damage equal to a base amount plus 15% of their current health. Xin Zhao gains bonus armor and magic resistance for each champion struck, lasting for 6 seconds.
TOTAL PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 75 / 175 / 275 (+ 100% bonus AD) (+ 15% of enemies' current health)
ARMOR AND MAGIC RESIST PER CHAMPION HIT: 15 / 20 / 25
MAX ARMOR / MAGIC RESIST BONUS: 75 / 100 / 125
- knock back enemies on impact
- Great damage
E -> Q+W
This is the most basic combo that lets you get close to the target enemy immediately, use Battle Cry to increase your attack speed thus speed up Three Talon Strike and knock up the enemy faster.
E -> R -> Q+W
If you are not confident about being able to burst down your enemy with just the Three Talon Strike and Battle Cry combo or landing all three of the talon strikes, use your ultimate to deal more damage first to ensure the enemy takes all the punishment it deserves.
E -> R
In this combo, it does not mean Audacious Charge to the enemy, but going to another target behind your target enemy e.g. minions, jungle monsters and using Crescent Sweep to knock the enemy back to your teammates. This of course will separate you from your team and also possibly sacrificing yourself in the process.
Ranked Play and Teamfights
Only try this build if you are a pro e.g. Gold or higher. Also, you will take the role of an assassin, high damage and extremely burst. So you are a kind of single target focusing character like Zed and not like Garen who just tries to do as much aoe damage as he can.
just poke and win unless the enemy is extremely tanky or more fed than you in that case you run like Hecarim
If you are fed, focus on the squishier/ more damage dealing champion first then finish off the second one. If you are underfed, you will want to avoid these situations
Never be the one who initiates as you are squishy and easy to be focused on. Instead, go in when the enemy's health are a bit lower then focus their most damage output champion e.g. Master Yi Ahri Kha'Zix or the adc.
When you are running away from teamfights
You can use Audacious Charge to charge to a jungle creep or use Crescent Sweep to knock back the enemy when they get too close.
2.You have a significant amount of lifesteal so don't worry if your health is too low.
3.The good thing about Xin Zhao is that by the time he finishes his knock up the enemy's health will be so low he will be forced to run.
4.You can play a great come back when the enemy is chasing you by hiding in a bush and jumping out unexpectedly, knock them up and kill them.
Farming/ In lane
Avoid using Three Talon Strike to farm as if has a relatively long cool down early game and the enemy might take this opportunity to do some damage on you while you are defenseless. Also feel free to activate Battle Cry when your health is low and need to auto attack more to heal up. Just ult when the minion wave is too big, who cares, it has a short cool down.
Well, I guess that sums up my build :p What I have just shown you, is an alternate way to play Xin Zhao. If you feel that your team has too much tanks and not enough damage, you can always use this build to quickly burst down the enemy one at a time. GL and don't forget, HF!
