1. If you are going to go Galio just for the damage, then there are gabillion better champions. Honestly. This is the only way to play Galio Ranked.

2. Righteous gust is so strong in lane, and you can zone your opponent out so hard. It does so much damage and is a nice farmer too. in mid lane this is way better then bulwark.

3. THe bulwark tooltip says the maximum heal is 5 times, and it is such a small difference it doesn't even matter.

4. That is why I put the Top Lane build first, and mid lane after. Mid lane is if you want to play mid galio, to counter pick someone and deny farm.

5. You mustve midunderstood me, I didn't say harass (if I did point it out to me and I will change it xD), I meant to use it in lane early on due to the fact that it does so much damage. Early game, is when you build abysall, mercurys and chalice. This is the moment you deal the same damage as a glass cannon,
but you are super tanky as well. I didn't mean the title for the whole build, just the early early game.
Also, it is better to burn your ultimate in lane rather then feed a Karthus.

Amazingly detailed guide, and i completely agree with you about the meta shift and how people should indeed build to counter it.My hat is off to you sir. +1

Okay, here comes the critics :D

1) You got Galio wrong imo, saying that he's goot vs. burst mages. While he is not bad vs. magic burst, where he really shines is in countering DPS type mages (read: Cassiopeia, Fizz, Swain). Why? Due to the skill you completely leave out. Yes, Bulwark. I'd say, pick Galio vs. any DPS mage, max w, win trades all day.

2) Sooooo, why Bulwark?
For it's healing. Thanks to this, Cassio's Miasma pool will become a second spawn platform for you because it will heal you in pretty much the same way while your w will be activated.

3) If you play midlane Galio, forget the ******ed armor/MR stacking. Runic Skin serves as a great perk when we talk about buying things like Abyssal Mask or Banshee's Veil, but you shouldn't forget that as a mid laner, your job is to deal lots of damage ;) And AP Galio is great for that exact reason. Tons of damage + enough MR to ignore a lot of damage. Don't forget that Bulwark boosts MR by almost a 100. Therefore, having 100-150 natural magic resist is absolutely enough. Moreover, anything over 200 is a complete overkill on Galio

4) Not only I suggets putting an early point into w, but I say, forget Righteous Gust and max w by level 13.
Why? MR that it gives allows you to build AP like an AP carry and still counter your opponent like a boss. Heal that it gives, allows you to stay in lane for eternity.
Righteous Gust on the other hand has a decent AP scaling and those 180~ damage that you will miss out by not putting points into it will be well compensated by the AP that you build + AP from Runic Skin.

5) When you say that you wouldn't buy Rabadon's Deathcap is when I see that you never never tried it on middle lane Galio.
In fact, with hat, this gargoyle starts dealing absolutely ******ed damage :D

6) You call Aegis of the Legion bad. D:< Best item for solotop Galio in early-mid game. Health+MR+Armor+cheap price. I'd take that deal any day. Especially if you have Teleport (I assume you take it to aid in dragon fights?). It will help your team a ton early game.

7) Don't listen to Caster. Randuin's Omen wins so hard on Galio!
All the stupid talk about "OMG I will reduce their attack speed it's so ******ed my ult won't be any good QQQQQQQQQQQQQQ" is absolutely basis lacking.
In fact, if you do the math, you lose 1-2, at most 3 auto attacks even if you taunt their whole team.
On the other hand, Randuins provides a ******edly strong op 4=5 (if Bulwark is up) seconds slow and AS reduction for that WHOLE team (considering you use it right as ult is about to end).
Imo, if you buy any serious armor on Galio item it should be Randuin's Omen and not Thornmail or Frozen Heart (FH is also good, but Randuin's is still better, I think)

So... that's about it. Tell me what you think ;)

Since i play Galio as well and i got my guide, i agree with your build, but this is a rushed guide, i would advice you to edit guide. Add images, take less color, you got lots of thing to edit here , still a great start .

Now this time I can really really see that you theorycraft =P

I don't have much time atm, but I promise I'll come back and will point out the things that are just wrong about some of your persumptions :D

Nevertheless guide is really good, as usual. But the build and playstyle can be far better.

One thing im gonna tell in advance, get an early point in Bulwark. I usually max it before his e, but that needs to get some explanation that as I promised, will be provided later ;)

Gj overall!

Solid job, VERY well detailed in every aspect. Improvements to the organization and visual prowess through a little more creative coding, will take this guide places. If you need any help with the more complicated aspects of BBcode, PM me and I'll be happy to explain. Great start though, very in depth.
