I have to agree that Magic Resist reds are just not worth it. Magic pen reds are much better. I would put magic resist in blues, like Khazem said. Other than that, I like the build and guide. I like your choice of philosopher's stone.

Edit: On second thought, with the role you are playing, magic resist reds can work. But, I don't think I would take them, personally.. :P And another thing... while the stats on Frozen Heart are nice on Galio, I'm not sure it's best because the attack speed reduction will hinder the damage on your ultimate (just a thought). I might take Glacial Shroud for early/mid game, but not upgrade to Frozen Heart until VERY late game..

I just like the flat MR, but whatever you like. Preference is good. MR Pen can go more off a DPS side, and I'd rather have the survivablility, but whatever works for you. I wrote this too be more of a player's guide on what is best, and how to play Galio right. I can never say any build is bad, but sometimes thinking too much damage over Defense can be turn the tide between Tank, and Cannon.

Great build, can't say anything bad about it.
A question about the runes though, what do you think about using magic pen reds and MR/level blues? Would perhaps enhance your early game laning as Galio doesn't usually pick up any magic pen anywhere else and MR/level blues get really sexy late game.

Definitely +1 from me though for a well thought out and well-written guide.
