Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I have had quite a bit of experience with Galio, but with all of the builds I have tried, I combined a lot of things together, and this is what works for me.
The first 5 items in this build are a must for any Galio build. The sequence is crucial, because with Guardian Angel, you can ult without worrying about being killed. This works exceptionally well in team fights with 4 or more people - They will attempt to kill you, and by the time you revive 1 or 2 of them will be dead, and you can make a clean escape. You can also get the Zhonya's Ring before the Thornmail and SF Cape. Also, the Thornmail and Sunfire Cape are very important while using your ult. If you have 4 enemies attacking you for 2.5 seconds while you are dealing 30% of their damage back, and also blocking a portion of their damage, plus the 100 damage that will be from your Sunfire cape, that is some great damage right there.
Exhaust is great for making a get-away or catching up to an enemy. Between your Q and your E, your enemies will have nowhere to run. Also, if your allies are being chased, it is easy to help them make a clean get-away while using your W on them as well.
Ghost is great for saving your allies as well. Make the enemies focus you while your allie runs away, then just ghost out of there and possibly use your Q, E, and W.
Your ultimate won't be amazing until mid-late game, when you have Thornmail and SF cape. But remember. Ulting on an enemy with high DPS works great. NOTE - NEVER use your ultimate on a Shen, Tryndamere, or anyone with Flash, because they can easily escape the area that is effected by your Ult. Use your W spell on yourself always before ulting. Also, remember to tell your allies when you are going to ult in a team fight so they can go and get in the fight.
Farming is one of the easiest things to do with Galio. If you see a bunch of creeps gathered in one place, (and if you are level 6+) use your Q and E on them, and it will instantly kill anything that both spells hit. Works great early, mid, or late game.
Because of his incredible farming abilities, the build really isn't that hard to get within the span of 1 game. Usually if the game is over 45 minutes you will have 100+ creep kills.
Last hitting creeps is very important. Use Resolute Smite to farm very efficiently, and use your Righteous Gust to harass. Or 1 alternative would be to farm with melee, and spam your Q and E. This actually does quite a bit of damage, and is especially effective because of the long range of both spells.
Keep in your lane. If the opposing team's first tower is destroyed, then you can help out other lanes, ganking or pushing.
Help out in team fights, and use your Ult as effectively as you can. That can make or break any team fight you get caught up in.
Feel free to comment on this Build, but please be contributive, and not negative. I am open to all suggestions you may have.
