Hey everyone, my name is Katomeru and this is my first build/guide on how to play a lane gp.
There are many ways to play gangplank and I strongly believe that laneplank is one of them. He is a great champion for any lane and he does exeptionally well in a lane. He does well in a lane for 3 main reasons..
+ He has a great heal
+ His e's passive gives him a lot of early game power
+ His 1vs1 skills are unsermountable
+ Insane Crits
+ Good Heal
+ Good Passive
- Squishy early on
- Runes are expensive
- Needs items to be effective
I chose these runes because I feel it maximizes you're critical strikes while giving you that extra 12% crit rate as soon as you start off the game. It really helps with early laning and once you get your late game items you will be easily unstoppable.
The masteries I hit in this guide give GP early game dominance so he can get those kills early on and get his items fast to further progress in the game. It gives him a lot of AD and a decent bit of sustain as well as a little bit of the thornmail effect from the defense mastery tree.
The items in the build I chose are items that are going to not only give you crit chance but also make the critical strikes hit harder as well as giving you lifesteal. So imagine this, you're laning and doing fairly well and BOOM! The other teams tryndamere comes out with his hands flailing ready to kill you. What do you do? Turn around and give him a nice face full of parrrley, it applied the crit that you WILL have and it gives you 30% of 800 back in health. Due to your maxed out bloodthirster. So if your losing in a fight and someone has you low, dont be scared to turn around and give em a nice little snack of parrrley because it is not only going to hit them hard but will give you a lot of hp back.
I decided to put the early point in raise morale because of its passive but leave it for last because it really has no use early game. You can farm with your q and basics and heal with your w as well as crit with basic/parrrley. You really dont need RM and the best thing about the Q,W, E ranking system is that you can eat an orange at level 12 and heal about 400hp off.
FLASH - Goes well with ignite. And gets you out of sticky places.
IGNITE - Good for 1v1's and getting of last hit on enemy champ.
I mainly chose these summoner spells because early game fights are more or less like this.... Hit, Hit, Hit, Heal, Hit, Hit, Hit, The enemy runs. BUT with flash/ignite. Stop this running away bs and flash up there and ignite the mofo. BOOM! First blood. There you go, your on your way to victory.
