Introduction

GREETINGS SUMMONERS!


This is my first build guide and so i have decided to write one for the champion who's build i have done the best with,

Gangplank

. All the builds on this website seem to say start with mana crystal => sheen or a bunch of avarice blades and whenever i follow their builds i don't seem to do as well as when i do this build.If you find any errors, typo's ect. or have any comments or questions be sure to comment and rate+1 Vielen dank! and long live GP.

Pros//Cons

PROS

+Versatile AD carry
+

M-m-m-m-monster crits!!!!


+great built in cleanse with your
+Global ultimate which can save towers and finish off fleeing champions
+says a buncha sweet-*** pirate **** in game
+dances like a

BOSS


+eats opposing carrys for breakfast
+auto-attacks destroy healers *in the new patch it doesn't reduce healing anymore
+farms gold extremely well with his Parrrley (what did you expect? he's a ****ing pirate, after all.)


Cons

+This build in particular makes him a wee bit squishy early game so laneing against aggressive toons can be scary.
+solo-ing against ranged carrys like Cait or MF can be impossible if they are skilled.
+good mordekaiser> perfect gangplank
+opposing teams are likely to say things like:

" OP!! PLAY A CHAMP THAT ISNT ON EASY MODE."
or sometimes even,

"I BET YOU THINK YOU'RE GOOD GANGPLANK. JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE 12-0! PIRATE *****!" and this, as we know, can get very annoying ;)

Items!

Buildingfirst is going to be the key to winning the early phase with gangplank. this means starting withalmost every time, unless they have a really AP heavy team then start with the magic res.


3 speed boots have saved my life SO many times i take them EVERY time, and in combination with Raise Morale this pirate can run faster than a *league of legends pun here*.


Infinity Edge is reaaally expensive, and it is a pain every game trying to pay for it . If you are fortunate ( or good ) enough to get 1650 gold before going b then by all means GETto start!!


Wriggle's lantern is perfect because of it's versatility given that it has armor, lifesteal, and AD - everything a pirate needs!(besides ****loads of oranges

to fight off that pesky scurvy!)


if you are getting pushed around too easily, get your tank item before finishingobviously, a tank item that also benefits your carrying is useful given that you WILL be the main carry for your team, however depending on what type of character is most dangerous on their team,can be replaced byor whatever you like.



ALSO! very very very!! late game, chalice of harmony can be replaced byif this you do not spam abilities. 500 mana is great, but with the reduced cool downs you have to be careful NOT to blow your wad too soon and be OOM before the big teamfight. Do not hesitate to go extra tanky with gangplank, as tankplank is also a viable item build, and if it is the survive team fights, then there really is no other choice.

RUNES

I've seen some builds go for crit dmg or attack speed but i don't think that plays to gangplank's strengths well. Gangplank's Parrrley is already pretty powerful from level one if you can crit with it, but adding to attack speed is too reliant on having added survivability to get off multiple auto attacks, and adding to crit dmg is mostly for late game when you have significantly higher crit chance. Going with 2/3 armor pen marks + 1/3 crit chance does a lot to help make our favorite pirate a threat in the early laneing stages. Also, there is not very much armor pen in the build itself so these runes are a big dealio. Our cooldown reduction from our glyphs is pretty self explanatory since it allows gang to Parrrley to more gold, cleanse/heal more often, and make cannon balls fall on *****es all day. I am not entirely confident in the crit chance seals yet, however i can't justify any other kind.

Summoner Spells

exhaust is a must but flash can be replaced with ghost or teleport depending on how you prefer to play your carry.

you already got one dummy :) and then there are like 7 summoner spells not even worth mentioning by name REVIVE because really as a carry all you RALLY need is one spell to mess with them and one spell to b fast

Farming

Although historically, pirates are not known for their farming, Gangplank is pretty ****ing good at it. Be sure you get a couple bot games under your belt to be able to judge when your Parrley is going to do enough dmg to kill a creep and get the extra gold. Also, your auto attacks do dmg over time so if you can get one or two auto attacks off on a mage creep it could melt it and get you your gold after you've moved on to another creep- perfect this and you will become scary good.
