7. Skill sequence
Gangplank is a very good solo top champion, with a range around the whole world(ultimate). This gives Gangplank a chance to help his team even when he isn't around. Gangplank is very strong early game, if you manage to get the lead in top lane you will be very hard to defeat.
Gangplank has the abilities to help his team around him but even on the other site of the map. His ability Remove Scurvy is a kind of cleanse wich gives him a little heal to. This will make it hard to slow or stun Gangplank.
PASSIVE Grog Soaked Blade: This means that Gangplank's basic attacks apply a poison wich also slows the target for 7%. This effect also works when you use Parrrley.
Parrrley(Q): This is a ranged abilitie wich apply's on hit effects such as Grog Soaked Blade and Frozen Mallet. If you kill an enemy with Parrrley you will get bonus gold.
Remove Scurvy(W): This will heal Gangplank slightly but it will remove all debuffs that are applied on Gangplank. This can be helpfull against snares et cetera.
Raise Morale(E): This gives all nearby allies bonus movement speed and attack damage when activated. It's passive will give Gangplank bonus movement speed and attack damage, when activated this effect will be raised.
Cannon Barrage(R): This is Gangplank's ultimate wich is castable around the whole world. This will apply a slow on all the enemy's that walk in it's effect zone. this will give you the oppotunity to chase after some enemy's.
I take my masteries 21/0/9
I'm taking the masteries wich give me massive bonus attack damage and wich let me deal bonus damage at farming, this will make it easier to farm much minions. I'm taking the bonus damage on towers to get them down much easier. The cooldown reduction will give you a bigger opportunity to use Parrrley to farm minions to get bonus gold. I build Gangplank for some high critchance so that i hit double damage early. I take some bonus mana regen to help me with my high mana cost early game.
For runes I take: Armor per level seals, flat mana glyphs, critical strike chance marks and mana regen quintessences.
Greater Seal of Defense: These seals give 0.15 armor per level(2.7 armor at champion level 18) each. This will give you the armor you need to survive at solo top.
Greater Glyph of Mana: These glyphs give 11.25 mana each. This gives you some more mana to start with, that makes it easier to stay in fight a little longer.
Greater Mark of Critical Chance: These marks give 0.93 critical strike chance each. This will give you the chance to fight 1 vs 2. You have to play safe as you normally have to but it's easier to kill an enemy.
Greater Quintessence of Replenishment: These quintessences give 1.25 mana regen each. This will give you a little bit more mana to use your expensive abilities early game.
You start with Brawler's Gloves and 2 Health Potion. This gives you some early game critical strike chance. When you don't have any mana left and you already used your Clarity, you go back to buy Boots of Speed, Avarice Blade and if possible Ionian Boots of Lucidity to give you movement speed bonus gold and a nice cooldown reduction. Now you are going to build a Trinity Force, you start of with Zeal then Sheen and last Phage. After building Trinity Force you build Warmog's Armor to get yourself some more health, I recommend to take Giant's Belt first. This will give you a health boost. After building Warmog's Armor you go on with Infinity Edge and Atma's Impaler to give you a lot more critical strike chance and massive damage. When finished building Atma's Impaler you build Youmuu's Ghostblade, this will give you the critical strike chance you want and the bonus armor penetration is a nice extra. After this you sell your Ionian Boots of Lucidity to buy The Bloodthirster. This will give you massive damage and a little bit of lifesteal.
For spells i take Exhaust or Ignite and Flash. Exhaust can come in handy when you get ganked by the enemy jungler or when you need to slow your target even more, especially when the enemy has an escape, if the enemy haven't got an escape you can choose to take Ignite. Flash will give you the opportunity to escape from ganks when you are trapped between their jungler and their solo top champion. If they stun, snare or supprese( Warwick) you use your Remove Scurvy to stop that and be free to use yout abilities and spells.
You start with Parrrley to get farming really easy in early game, you max Parrrley first(levels 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). Second you go for Raise Morale, you max it second(levels 2, 8, 10, 12 and 14). You finish Remove Scurvy last, but you take one point early(levels 4, 13, 15, 17 and 18). Your ultimate Cannon Barrage, you will level it at the normal levels(levels 6, 11 and 16).
I hope you will get far with this guide, it works perfectly for me. If you are going to test it place your experriences in the commends, only when you have tested it in PvP.
