Introduction

Welcome to my Gangplank guide. This is how i play Gangplank in ranked(if not banned) and in normal games. Shall we look into detail?

Runes + Explanation

First of all, i've tried different rune sets for Gangplank, and the current runes that i've set are the ones i'm the happiest with.

At first i tried to go all crit chance runes, and sure it was fun when the other champ is limping away from you after you critted him with your Parrley(Q). But in my honest opinion, GP's early game should be focused on last hitting with your Parrley. If your target is killed by your Q, you gain extra gold. And this extra gold when it is accumulated with your cs, then you should be able to afford GP's quite expensive, (but worth every penny of it,) build.

So therefore, i discarded my critical chance runes(Greater Marks/Seals/Glyphs/Quints of Malice)

For early game farming advantage, I take armor penetration marks(Greater Mark of Desolation), and mana/5 regen,(Greater Seal of Replenishment), cooldown glyphs (Greater Glyph of Focus) and finally for Quints, i take extra armor penetration.

The reason why i get mana/5 instead of crit chance, is since you will be using most of your, for last hitting, these seals will help you not worry about being OOM.

But just because I said focus on last hitting, that doesnt mean you cannot harrass the enemy champions with your Q.

Masteries

I run a 21/0/9 masteries set up, without taking a point in Havoc, because it is not counting your bonus damage, just your base damage. Not my cup of tea, but feel free to take it. And I take Meditation in the Utilities section for extra mana regen.

Items

My item purchase shortlist may seem a bit confusing, so I will try to explain which order i buy my items.

I start out with Brawler's Gloves, which we will build into Zeal --> then into Phantom. But, here's the tricky part.

I buy Cloak of Agility to build Infinity Edge before Phantom. This is because I tried to finish my Phantom before my Infinity Edge, and I did not have enough damage.

Then after finishing your Infin. Edge, and your Phantom, the fun begins for GP.

yourshould be critting here and there by now. It is great for 1. poking at enemy champs(which may crit and hurt em) 2. Finish off that annoying carry that is running away with one bar of health left.

After Phantom, i build my BF sword twins, Bloodthirster and Black Cleaver. Adding life steal and Black cleaver to your arsenal will prove to be..........SCARY for the other team.

Then i finish it off with Stark's Fervor for extra A/S and life steal( This item is useful when you are pushing a tower)

Skill Sequence

Passive - this has been improved in my opinion by the latest patch, now it applies a slow with damage over time.

Q - GP will shoot his gun at a damage which applies his passive, and on-hit effects all apply (ie. Crits, Armor pen) *1 priority

W - your very own "Cleanse" if you will, I max this last, mainly because, i do not use it for heals, but for getting out of stuns, snares, or any kind of CC. *Last priority

E - Passive, he has a certain amount of Bonus AD and Movement Speed, Active: He shoots his gun in the air, which gives GP double the passive bonus, and his allied champions will gain half of that amount.

R - He does Aoe Damage + Slow. Global usage. Use this to help top/bot/mid lane when they try to kill the enemy champ. Or in team fights, to catch up to the other team, etc etc.

Summoner Spells

Recommended:

Ghost: This will work well with your Boots of Mobility *PLUS* your E. When chasing, running away, GP will always be everywhere with this spell

Ignite: This will give you great dominance in lane when combined with your Q. After a couple Q's, you activate your E, Rush in and Ignite them, then finish them off with Q.

Pros / Cons

PROS:
