Gangplank is a viable champion for anyone who's looking to KO others. He has huge potential in all aspects of the game. I start off Gangplank with a Doran's Shield and go to either top or bottom lane (I prefer bottom). I try to share last hitting creeps with my laning partner, but if there's a jungler on your team, you can easily solo after level 6.

I chose Ghost and Ignite because Ignite is preferred over Exhaust and Exhaust + Ghost is a little redundant. Ghost is better than Flash in my opinion because it's impossible to fail ghost and it also has a decent timer on it.

You don't have to get the items in this order, it's just the order that I always get them at. You can also swap out a bloodthirster/last whisper for another phantom dancer for an 85% chance of critting with still amazing attack DPS, or you can also swap out for a Trinity Force which benefits everything that Gangplank needs except life steal, which is why I stack Bloodthirsters. You can also get situational items or turn into an amazing tank with a Warmog's from the start.

It is important to always have Gangplank around during teamfights because of his Raise Morale spell. Gangplank can also pretty much solo any champion with this full build. It is equivalent to Master Yi in my opinion with a better ability than Alpha Strike that can also crit, Parrrley.

Pros:
1) Massive Powerhouse
2) Can be converted to an ad tank carry.
3) Great bonus in team fights.
4) Passive does damage over time
5) Remove Scurvy also gets rid of stuns/blinds/etc. in addition to healing you.

Cons:
1) A little squishy without Warmog's
2) Parrrley is mana-intensive at the start of the game.

In short, Gangplank is my #1 choice for an AD champ. He's fun to use and is amazing late-game.
