Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Growing up in the city of Bilgewater isn't easy. Gangplank was born the son of the dread pirate captain Vincent the Shadow. One might think this would have spoiled the boy with a cushioned life of privilege, but the truth is quite the opposite. Vincent wanted his son to grow up tough and strong, so he was extremely hard on the young Gangplank. It worked. The boy was the most ruthless and feared pirate in all of Bilgewater, and his daddy was never more proud than on the day of his son's eighteenth birthday - when Gangplank stabbed his old man in the back and claimed the ship for his own. However, the world is a dangerous place for pirates and Gangplank could read the writing on the wall. It was time for Bilgewater to have their own champion to represent them in the League of Legends, and who better than the fiercest pirate of them all?
''Yo ho, blow the man down. Or at least shoot him when his back is turned and steal all his booty.''
Welcome to my second Champion build, today's champion is my favorite support damage dealer Gangplank. so lets start out with me explaining his Ability's:
Passive: Grog soaked blade: Gangplank poisons his target after physically hitting them causing them to take damage over time. (I can't count the number of kills I've gotten from this Passive, They think that they get away and next thing they know BOOM they die from the poison.)
1st Skill: Parrrley: Gangplank fires a shot at a target dealing damage. (This is Gangplanks staple and toward his later levels can hit around 900-1500 depending on runes and items, and it only has around a 5 second cool-down which makes it great for harassing enemy's.)
2nd Skill: Remove Scurvy: Gangplank consumes a large amount of Citrusy fruits which heal a portion of his health and removes all Crowd control effects. (I Love this Ability and get as many levels of this as fast as I can. Not only does it save my life from stuns, slows, and about every other CC there is besides Silence but it heals around a quarter of my HP when at level 5.)
3rd Skill: Raise Morale: Gangplank executes an allied minion which inspires nearby champions and gives them increased attack speed and movement speed. (A decent skill that passivly raises your movement speed and attack speed good later game when you need to run from town and catch up to the fight or switch lanes.)
4th Skill (Ultimate): Cannon Barrage: Gangplank fires flares into the air signaling his ships to fire a rain of Cannonballs onto the target location dealing damage and slowing every target it hits. (This is a great Ult which can be used to turn the tide of any battle no matter how out championed you are. It's also great for pushing towers, Making a hasty retreat or finishing off a fleeing enemy.)
Now that you've learned a bit about his Ability's lets move on to his Items and the order he gets them in.
1st items: Meki's Pendant and 2 health potions (Some people get the a Brawlers Gloves instead of Meki's Pendant but I find the faster mana regen allot better to stay in the fight and get more money for the next items)
2nd item: x2 Avarice Blade's (Great crit bonus and the gold you get will help you get your high priced items early)
3rd item: Boots (Either Ninja Tabi or Mercury's treads depending on what you are up against Physical damage or Magic/heavy stunners)
4th item: Infinity Edge (I tend to get Cloak of Agility first for the crit bonus then BFS then Pickax but occasionally I'll get the BFS first if I have the money since your Parrrley is also based off your Base damage.)
5th item: Phantom Dancer (I get Zeal first then Cloak of Agility and then Phantom dancer. Its great for the crit chance ontop of your melee speed when you get level 5 raise morale.)
6th Item: The BloodThirster (If you haven't won the game yet this will make you win the game, its Damage bonus ontop of the lifesteal will make your parrrley's a beast and even more beastley in Melee fights.)
Basically you go to your lane and harass the enemy until you hit level 6 push the tower with your ult take it out then go gank with your team. Simple enough, I hope you enjoyed this guide.
