Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Gangplank people... need i say more? he's a pirate, he does insane damage and his ult can be cast anywhere on the map to ks, crowd control, or just irritate people. gangplank is pretty gear dependent so you must always play to your gear, becoming more aggressive as your gear gets better and your damage increases. also, map awareness is key for effective use of GP's ult. If your an impatient player that likes to start ganking early game (lvls 1-8) this build probably isn't for you and you should go play Garren or something. Once you hit lvl 6 you can start picking off low health enemies from all over the map and getting cash to buy the gear you'll use to rack up the kills lvl's 10-18.
These masteries are pretty obvious, if you would rather take points in the defense tree it won't make much difference. however, the mana is nice to have early game.
I know people will look at my rune page and think i'm downs but i have found that attack speed over crit runes really help gangplank mid-late game which is what i like to build GP for. You'll get plenty of crit from your items (enough to crit every parrrley). this build will give you a 20% attack speed increase at lvl1 which will greatly help you early game to last hit minions and be more effective in your lane. end and mid game the attack speed will help you finish off enemies you can't "one shot" with your parrrley, the more tanky champs. the magic resist helps keep you alive from annoying mage nukes that don't have to get close to you to kill you any melee champ is pretty easy to evade as long as you play GP well enough.
Get the items in the order posted, Both Avarice Blades first. these help you generate some extra gold to finish off your boots and infinite edge quick. Cool down reduction boots are a pretty huge part of this build so don't swap them for something dumb like boots of mobility just because your impatient and don't like to walk slow because you usually play Garren. Side Note: when building these items grab the prerequisite items with Crit on them being that crit is the most important stat for GP's damage output. After you turn one of your Avarice blades in for Youmuu's you can either buy Bloodthirster or Banshi's this can be decided according to the game and who is carrying on the other team. Banshi's can also be replaced by a GA if you want i don't really care all that much.
Parrrley first, remove scurvy second, Ult at 6,11, 16 and raise moral at lvl 5 and after that only when you have to.
Ignite! you will get allot of kills with your ignite, you have to have ignite. mid game all you have to do is ignite, parrrley. squishies are like that all game, but you need ignite to finish them off more often than not. the other summoner spell i use flash just because i'm good with it. i use it to catch people with my ignite after i hit them with a parrrley and they start running like hell because i just almost one shot them. ghost is good too since remove scurvy will clear any CC they might put on you. Ghost actually might be a better choice when combined with Remove scurvy i just prefer flash. whatever you want to do just get ignite or you can't come to my birthday party.
