Introduction

Hello future Garen users, this is my first build. I've played Garen many times and he is one of the best early game offtanks I've ever played. Late game is really bad if your enemy is fed or your not fed at all. Okay to start this guide, Garen is a farmer, tank, dps and a pusher. Garen uses Attack Damage, also none of his skills uses anything, because he has no mana, energy, rage, etc.

Runes

Movement, Armor Penetration, Armor and Cooldown Reduction all you need.

Masteries

Defense mysteries and a little hint of offense.

Skill Sequence

Max out Judgment
Then Max out Decisive Strike
Take Ultimate as soon as it is available
Your Courage is not really useful in till you start diving and getting in team fights

Summoner Spells

Ghost - Your amazingly fast
Exhaust - Your team can catch up with the enemy
Good Game

Situational

If the enemy team are mostly ap casters and have a lot of CC and ult that requires cleanse to get out of. You must get QSS.

If the enemy team has a Master Yi, Tryndamere, Teemo, any champ who depends on Physical Auto-Attack.

If you feel like you are dying to a lot of Physical DPS you should also grab.

Team Fights

You should initiate after another champ such as malphite, galio, amumu initiate to start a team fight. If no one like that is on your team you should go ahead and just Q + E + W in to the enemy team and hope your team focus their Support/Carry. You should be alive once the carry/support is dead and you should ult any remaining low health survivors.

Team Work

The best champion you could lane with is a person that stuns, I like sion.
Avoid laning with another tank/offtank
Team fights you will initiate, unless there is another tank in the house.

Farming

Get last hits, if your laning with a carry, share.
Help with Dragon if your bot lane, that way you can tank dragon easily.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
Your amazingly fast with Ghost, Decisive Strike and Youmuu's
Your Judgment and Decisive Strike will do loads of damages on any champion
Your Courage can tank turrets what more can you ask for
You have a health regeneration in you

Cons:
Your can't tank everything in a team fight
If your the only offtank and there is no tank, your screwed

Ranked Play

I've tested some ranked games with Garen, and I do pretty good the games usually last around 25 - 35 minutes and I get at least 6 kills and 160 CS per game

For High Elo players I do not really recommend Garen!
