Introduction

Garen was the first solo top lane champion that I have ever played. I always admired how much damage he could deal, and his incredible sustain in lane! I had always thought he was the best top laner, but as I emerged victorious from the laning phase, I seemed to have worn out a lot by late game. I did loads of damage for sure, but I was always killed in team fights in 1 second. It bothered me so much, that I decided that Garen has to play both ways. A.K.A. Off Tank.

Off Tank-Somebody who can dish out lots of damage while having high survivability in team fights, ect. They can't deal as much damage as an AD Carry, and they don't have the tools to become a full tank.

After messing around with a couple of new builds, I have decided that these two builds work best for me. Note: It might not work for you as well, and if it doesn't, adapt to the situation and buy the items that you need!
