I know what you're thinking...
Garen's not a JUNGLER!!!NSNONDONDOTMD
Well, I've tried it a few times, and I have to say, it's been doing well for me. I could certainly use some suggestions and ideas on ways to improve on the build, namely, early game. The only struggle so far is whether to go tanky first or get right into the black cleaver asap. I guess it all depends on who your matchup is. But I digress.
Try and rush your Q and boots as early on as you can while still working on your build for dead man's plate and black cleaver. You're going to want as much as speed as you can between levels 1-6 so that ganks will come easy. Garen is tanky enough to begin with that even if you don't have much armor built yet, you're going to be able to deal a lot of damage to an unsuspecting laner that it wont matter, and worse case scenario, you've got speed to dip out using your Q as well if need be. AS far as fighting jungle monsters just mash your Q and E and use your smite wherever possible as well. There's no real method to killing the jungle monsters, you're just getting XP as fast as possible, and since Garen doesn't require mana you can focus on red buff and trash monsters mainly.
MID GAME (8-14)
By this time you should be done, or at least close to done your plate armor, cleaver, and thornmail. This will be around the time you'll start to be very tanky, along with your cleaver for damage you'll basically be a bus of power and can join your teammates for some lane action. At this point I generally don't bother with jungling at all anymore unless theres literally nothing else going on and youre low on gold. Or if you see an easy sneak kill you can pull off.
LATE GAME (14-18)
The only item you're going to want to have late game is spirit visage which will give you the added health bonus and some extra attack damage in case you're matching up against heavy hitters late game that have you outclassed in the damage department. Basically a strong defense is a good defense towards the end. Nothing worse than getting team wiped and watching yourself lose, so with this in mind, it should be enough to keep you alive long enough to come to your senses to back out of risky fights and Q back to safety so you can heal up.
