here i give you my short Solo-Top Guide for Garen, i`ve got alot of good results by playing with that Build. I hope i can give you some ideas about how to play Garen.
This Guide will show you how to get earlygame kills, while cleaning Top-Lane and helping your Teammate at Mid.
Pros / Cons
+ Tanky but still good Damage
+ Great initiator
+ Nice for Gank
- Endgame is Hard
I`ve tested alot arround what Items to take but the only really changeable Items are your Boots...
If you got a Heavy AP or Heavy Stun/CC Opponent change
And there are several reasons for my Item Build.
At first you might say, why finish Frozen Mallet so early.
That item gives you the ability to dive towers very early, so you can help out Mid / Bot with some Ganks and it stacks perfectly with Garens Passive to stay very long turns at Top.
As you can see a 1/21/8 issn`t the standart Custom Specc for Garen but it gives you some opportunity against other Solo-Top Champs.
The main Pros at this Specc is, that you have a good HP/Reg at earlygame and you got Max. of Running speed what will help you against Kite.
Another Pros is that you can nerly negate your Enemys damage with your Courage and Exhauste.
Some might say, that Build doesn`t do enough dmg for a strong early Game Champ like Garen, but believe me ... IT DOES !!!
Pretty easy to explain why take this Skill Sequence...
You only need the Charge + Silence from Disicive Strike to get to your Enemy and keep him at you.
Courage is very nice if he tries to kill you to avoid his main dmg.
(Remember!!!: You can activate that skill, while whirling with Judgement if you enemy doesn`t run.)
Judgement is you MAIN damage skill, it`s not only good for farming Minionwaves, it also deals quite good damage to you Opponent.
How to Start and Gameplay
You start farming Minions at Top and use your Decisive Strike on Cooldown to Charge you Enenmy everytime you can get close enough. And than go Back and Regenerate (if you don`t get the Chance to Kill him)
At ~ 2.30 Min you put your ward at the lower Grass to avoid jungle Ganks.
With LeveL 2 you can Charge with Decisive Strike and use Judgement to your Enemy, what takes ~ 30-40% of his HP.
Use your Healthpot ones you got - 200 HP.
While playing that much Agressive your Enemy will need to use Teleport very soon ... so you can Exhause him next time you got near enough and finish him off.
At Level 4 you can start ganking Mid if you Enemy ported back to Town or is dead.
With your Decisive Strike you are a great Ganker at Mid (Charge + Silence is fantastic to farm AP Champs)
Once you turn Level 6 and have Boots + Frozen Mellet you CAN Tower dive and kill People.
So i hope i gave you some ideas about how to play a tanky Garen, Comments and Test-Resaults would be nice.
