Nice try, but this build lacks the damage Garen needs. I Mastered him to play ranked team matches and base this off of my own experience, but we all have different playing abilities. Your concentrating more on defense, which is ok but try some more damage. No sense being a punching bag lacking the possible damage output you could achieve. You might think its ok now, but your missing out in a big way. Make your Garen effective right away. He naturally starts out good and if you want armor get that from items and 3 points in mastery. Get sunfire cape earlier = added damage. I would suggest something else in place of those armor runes. If your going defense your dodge from mastery is very ineffective without backing them up with runes. Any smart caster will run away from you once they realize your set for max damage and got some magic resist added from shop. One decisive strike + Judgment + Demacian Justice, should end any caster...(should) Garen is who got me into top ranked teams, but now Maokai...w00t! About 300,000 damage a game should be your average, even when 5 levels away from 30 and at least just over half tier 3. That is also about 25-30+ kills a game usually. Gotta practice a bit, but if your really into Garen you'll get there.... I still love playing him, but another Demacian is around now and loving Maokai.

You can still be kinda tank-y by going more damage. Or maybe flip flop from melee-killer to mage-killer builds, but that is just taxing on you and gets old switching again and again.

Main reasons I posted is because of:
low atk damage late game = awesome late game, errrr or can be
not very good at 1vs1,such Jax or Xin= just the opposite, always looking for a chance at 1v1
easy to harrass = let em I dare em, but kinda avoidable if needed by reading player
skill dependant = not when practiced a lot, and I mean a lot!

These can be removed :)

thnx mobrebel for your comment. 2nd warmong's is just optional and as i mention is, besides of health, giving more atk dmg to your impaler. randuin's is also a great choice coz Garen lacks of slow skill. i'll add this feedback of you in guide right away.

Great guide. But, I wouldn't get a 2nd Warmog's. All it really gives is health regeneration and health. You could do more with Randuin's. The slow would help finish the game a lot faster, even if they don't have as much AD champs. Just my thoughts. +1 anyway because of the pure detail you get into.
