I am going to start with Boots and 3 health potions
On the lane dont use all of your 3 hp potions immediately if you run out of HP take one and stay in the Tower and use your passive.

First back you should have enough money to buy Brutalizer the only dmg Item you need.
If you get fed see by "Dmg Garen" below.

Warmog's Armor its your main Tank item for HP

Against AD :

Ninja Tabi - Armor and dmg reduce I would say this are acutally the main Bots of Garen.

Sunfire Cap - gives you Armor and HP also has a litte bonus that helps you farming because of the passive ability from the Cape

Thronmail - After Warmogs the main tank item against AD gives you 100 Armor and the crazy abiltiy to return damage.

Against AP:

Mercury's Threads - gives you Tenacity 35 which helps you alot against slows like Nasus , Sejuani etc.

Force of Nature - Main item against AP for tanks also gives Garen Mundos Passvie which give him 7 sec after a fight regenerate 0.5% of your max HP(passive) + 0.35% of you max HP(FON) = 0.85% of you max HP every second.


Items if you are been focused as Tank(lol):

Guardian Angel - gives you a second life.


Items in Testing:

Spirit Visage - this could be good in early game with FON because it gives you 15% more HP regen and a bit MR. A Contra is that in late game it steals you a space for better stuff.

If you see that the enemy are sacred of you and you can beat them
build Dmg Garen and try to farm you an Infinty Edge(IE) and dont buy Brutalizer

First buy B.F. Sword then get a bit HP with Gaint Belt.
After you bought you Gaint Belt try to finish you IE.(If you cant build Warmog's before you finish your IE)
Another good DMG item on dng Garen is the Frozen Mallet.

The only 3 dmg Item you need on Dmg Garen are IE, Forzen Mallet, and Atmas(instead you can also build a Brutalizer) rest are Standard Tank Items.


IF you play DMG Garen dont forget you job!!! if you carrying the game its nice but its not your job, make the enemy low so you carrys can take the kill cauz GAREN IS OFTANK (still a tank) not a carry you cant win the game if you carry dont get kills.

Flash: Flash can save you from unlear or HP critical Situations. Also it can give you advantage in a Situation where you can reach you enemy for the final hit(85% Demacian Justice).


Teleport: You can save Teammates* with it or make a split push and then come back if you team get Problems.
* Save Teammates little true story i got with garen was: my teamate was in Mid with Vlad and get in trouble against Morgana, Morgana was chasing him through the jungle and he said "oh yes i will be frist Blood " but Garen hear that uses TP and saved him for beeing First Blood to get Morgana as First Blood. After that (Morgana): i hate you Garen

Neary the same story i had 2 weeks later only differents it was Heimerdinger vs Lux and Lux said no to garen Frist Blood cauz of Cage ARRRRRRRR



This Storys are the reason why i do not perfer Exhaust or Ignite on Garen there are nice Spells "but they cant save Teammates"

Ok same guys say hey Garen has a Ghost in q why do i need Flash? Trust me Flash is the most usefull Summoner Spell ingame barely a few Champions can be played without Flash on my opinion. eg. Lee Sin , Tryn etc
