Hello ! This is a Garen Tank build. This guide/build will feature the way that i play Garen.Enjoy!

The rune setup is pretty simple. Armor penetration for early game aggression. Dodge seals for some extra lane staying power and to get nimbleness when an attack is dodged. Cooldown reduction glyphs - do I need to explain? Garen is cooldown based. No mana, no fury , no energy. Only cooldowns, just like Katarina.

For Summoner spells I take Ignite and Ghost. Ignite makes a great combination with Demacian Justice. And ghost simply helps you chase enemies down, get to your lane quicker and run away from enemies. You can also take Teleport, Exhaust, Cleanse and Flash.

Garen makes a great team with champions who can stun/bind/root. For example : Lux with her Light Binding, Morgana with her Dark Binding , Taric with his Dazzle and Warwick with his ultimate ability : Infinite Dur***. If you see your lane partner/jungler cast a stun/bind/root spell, quickly get up to the enemy champion it hit and cast judgement. If your teammate backs out you should do the same, but if your teammate stays use Decisive Strike and hit the enemy. The enemy champion SHOULD be at about 50% health. Cast your Ignite and continue striking with normal attacks and using your skills. When you see that the enemy is low enough you can finish them with Demacian Justice. (not recommended if the enemy is going to be killed anyway) In the beginning of the game take your position in the enemy bushes. When you see an enemy coming close initiate with Judgement. If your teammate helps this should get you guys a quick First Blood. Or you can defend your jungler and help him get blue/red buff.

Pros:
Great early game damage and takiness
Great iniciating ability
AoE slow with Frozen Mallet and Judgement
Has the ability to speed up and silence enemies
He yells demacia

Cons:
Absolutely no teammate saving abilities (no taunts, knock ups, binds)
Not a good solo laner
Very item dependent

Once you get to lvl 2 and you get your Courage you should start farming and last hitting minions. You need that in order to increase the passive from your W. It will give you 0.5 magic resistance and armor per minion kill and it is maxed at 25 armor and magic resistance.
