Hey there fellow summoners! This is my first guide and i'm happy to make it for my main champ Garen.I have been playing Garen since I started the game around S2 and he has been my go to champion ever since. Garen is a great top laner being able to tank so hard in teamfights and do tons of damage, like Phreak ;D

Garen's base damage is really strong early in the game. With just proper runes and masteries you can kill any carry using your wombo combo of justice without the need of AD items. His damage doesn't fall until level 18, when the enemy starts stacking some armor. Don't listen to the fools that start Infinity Edge or Black Cleaver.Forget getting The Brutalizer early, none of this Long Sword with Health Potions as starting items nonsense. The damage is there, you just need to stay alive to deal the damage early on in the game thus going tanky early is the way to go. Quit your crying already, you can get some damage late game c:

YOU THINK I'M SOME KIND OF NOOB M8? Ha, the reason I take Exhaust over something like Ignite is beacause:

1. Having Ignite is pointless when you have an execution ult like Demacian Justice
2. People forget that Exhaust isn't just a slow it is actually really strong making your opponents deal 40% reduced damage, reduces their movement AND attack speed by 30%, and finally shredding 10 armor and magic resistence.
3. If you combine Exhaust with your Hidden Dragon Poison Cougar Fang Twin Lion Strike Roundhouse Barrage of Wind Kick Kamehameha combo, it sums up to a lot of damage.

As Garen, the bushes are your friends take advantage of them to scare the **** out of your enemies and deal some nice damage using your Q and E. Note that you should use Courage when you know a strong hit is coming not just waste it as soon as you start the combo.

You want to play it safe just farming it up and using Decisive Strike to harass when your opponent is near. Remember if you use your Q too early the enemy can either get some distance, stun you before impact, or even use it against you like Fiora's Riposte.

When fighting someone with some CC like Riven or Jax you want to initiate with Judgment because when you get stunned it does NOT cancel your spinning, making them still take the damage and giving you the chance to follow up with Decisive Strike.
