Overview

This is my first guide ever, so apologies for maybe not including everything. I've played a LOT of Garen, as he is my favourite character and I've come up with a build that I have found very successful and wanted to share. (hopefully it won't be too popular, I'd hate to see this build in the hands of some real pros) Now the general play style to this is that Garen needs to be a top lane bully. using up your health pots pretty early (but wisely) and harassing top lane so they either go back to heal, or we get an early kill (added bonus). Your job solo top is to 1. stay alive!! and 2. out level and out farm their solo-top. 3. frustrate the other team when they can't kill you that they target you first (a little smack talk helps with this when you get away with 10 health). With this build you will be 200 armor and 200 MR very early, (mid game) with a decent amount of attack damage. you scale even more attack damage later and top it off with more Armor and MR late game for when they get penetration. Final build is over 240 armor and 270 MR. The reason we want this so high, is because at 200/200 with no penetration negates ALL CRITICAL STRIKES. we put more than needed late game for when penetration is usually bought (they find out they cant damage you.) Final build usually looks like 350 AD, 3k health and 240/270 AR/MR Granted you don't do a lot of damage, but enough to still be useful, team fights make sure you silence the healers or the AP FIRST then spin in the group maximizing your damage. Pop your shield, ulti low health people, run out. when Q is up decide based on your health whether to silence the next target or run back.
