Some tips

Items
This build focuses on getting a really good advantage of Nami's W, the Ebb and flow, that is actually a strong heal and a good poking ability. If you want to use it as much as possible, you need as much mana regen as you can have as soon as possible. That's why I choose Ancient Coin for starting item. It also generates you more gold, than Spellthief's. Here comes the ultimate ward item, and because you are a support, you have to ward constantly. I think Ardent Denser is a nice new item to pick for Nami, because she can heal more of her allies at the same time granting them attack speed and for Nami there is the mana regen and a little AP. Although I used to build Morellonomicon at this time to get the mana regen. If you also have Frozen Heart with your heals your allies will have 40% more attack speed than the enemy team, which is... well quite a lot. I like Rylai's Scepter because of its passive (and the 80 AP + survivability). If you W on an allied melee before you to reach the chased enemy, you can slow them from quite far.

Abilities
Q: a nice stun, but not easy to land, especially on a Vayne or Lucian, can used in escapes. If a melee champion chasing you and catching up with you, it's the best to use Q on your current location!
W: kill steal warning! Be careful if your ally CAN kill the enemy don't heal them when that enemy is very low on health, because they will hate you. :) Use W in teamfight when everyone is about half on health to get your allies the attack speed with Ardent Denser and heal without stealing kills. You can use it to poke, for example, if you are out of range and your ADC is near the enemy, you can poke by healing your ADC, it's a better use for W than just heal, and it can get back to you, if you go nearer.
E: bonus damage and slow, put it on ADC or a melee fighter if the melee is much closer to the enemy. I only put it on myself if my ADC tries to escape with low health and I want to slow the enemies.
R: damage for all and slow them all! When the enemy team is in a nice bouquet, teach them swim! (It's also a good disangage spell.) It makes your enemies so slow that you can easily land your Q on 2-3 or all of them (carries, especially fed ones the priority targets)! This can determine a teamfight, not an Amumu ult but something similar. Here comes the E and the W (on ADC in most cases) for more help and teamfight won. But always remember, your place is behind your teammates because if they get you first you can't give all that heal and attack speed buff.
