Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I'm Kasyr and in this guide i'm going to be showing how i play Rumble and im not going to have a long intro so lets get right into it shall we.
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration x9 since you do magic damage there is nothing better
Greater Seal of Vitality x9 these really help with survivablilty throughout the game
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist x9 these help early game when facing off against AP champs
Greater Quintessence of Health x3 these are great for the boost in HP at the start of the game
as for replacement runes i say just go with what works for you play how you play.
For Masteries i go with a 9-21-0 build for the offence tree i get Archaic Knowledge since all of you damage is going to be AP magic pen is always good and for the defense tree is good because you get survivability and a little extra AP with Ardor
For summoner abilities i go with Ignite and Exhaust i find its the best combo for any situation and with imp. exhaust you can take down tanks a bit better too.
abilities that are also viable are:
Ghost this is great for chasing and running away.
Teleport well i guess you can use it to save a tower i dont use this but one of you guys may use it.
Flash great for getting away from a situation where you are outnumbered or opening up with a surprise gank from over a wall.
Fortify not a bad choice but not really a good one either only take this if your team really really needs it like if nobody has teleport.
Cleanse only good if you dont run merc treads.
ones you should never ever and i mean EVER use:
Smite you are not and will never be a jungler so just no.
Revive unless your feeding never get this and for that matter dont feed to begin with.
Rally wow it gives you AD woo hoo your not a freaking AD champ leave it alone.
Heal if you are ever in a position were you are going to need this you dead already so it wont matter.
Clarity if you ever get this you need to be slapped hard with a fish.
Clairvoyance you are not a support and this wont help you at all in any situation.
Ok so lets get right into this the first item to start out with is Doran's Shield i have tried many different starting items and this i feel is just the best one to go with.
For your first trip back get Mercury's Treads if they have allot of cc or Ninja Tabi if they have allot of AD champs or Sorcerer's Shoes if they don't have much cc or AD champs but most of the time i seem to be going with the Mercury's Treads then any other boots you can also get a few Health Potion at this point if you want to stay in lane longer.
for the second item you are going to want to make is going to be Rylai's Crystal Scepter the reason for this is it gives you health which since you are melee you need cause your going to be face to face with your enemy and you get AP which you also need but the thing you need most is the slow which stacks with Electro-Harpoon and The Equalizer and it helps a chase when you have Flamespitter active.
ok so that is the core im going to go into the rest of the build that is situational:
for balanced teams get:
Force of Nature
for AP heavy teams get:
Force of Nature
Spirit Visage or Banshee's Veil
for AD heavy teams get:
and if you just want to deal lots of damage get:
because of the fact you are a AP melee pusher you need to be bulky or you will get ripped apart fast each item set gives you what you need to survive in any situation and the reason for not having GA up there is you wont really die too much if you play smart.
When engaging in team fights one of the things your going to be doing is droping alot of aoe damage down to weaken all the enemies and since you are a beefy you can take out their carry and get out alive what i tend to do in a team fight is go in kill the carry run out and by that time they should be chasing you now with the amount of health regen you have just stay far enough away so they cant hit you but spamming you W once your team gets on them duck in and out of the fight unless you see an enemy with low health that is running away chase them down and kill them the bes way i can describe Rumble is that he is a hit and run champ you have the slows and speed for a chase and you have enough speed and skills to help your escape i guess Rumble is a good anti carry the thing that i find best is to wait to drop your R until after a few seconds after the team fight starts so that the carries that everyone is trying to kill cant run away fast enough but if you get all of the enemy team attacking you watch your heat if you over heat when trying to run away you cant use your shield to keep you alive long enough for your team to catch up.
Pros / Cons
- Great harasser
- Can 1v1 most any champ
- Tons of aoe damage
- Lots of slows
- One of the best chasers in the game
- Enough survivablility to get in get the kill and get out alive
- Makes great bait
- Short cd on ult
- Very spamable skills
- A mistimed Over Heat can get you killed
- If caught alone by more then 3 champs your probably dead
- Very spamable skills (neat rises quickly if you dont pay attention)
- E and R are skill shots so you may not even hit anyone
- Very poor farmer its hard to last hit creeps and Q does half damage to creeps
- Cant do allot of damage to towers alone
Rumble to me is a great champ all around he has the beefiness of tanks the damage output of casters and the annoying harassment of carries all packed into 1 champ let me know how you guys like the guide or what i need to change but please no trolls.
