Threats to Talon with this build
|Yasuo||It's an easy match up, farm safely until 6 and kill him, or if you managed to poke him down because he got too cocky, you can kill him before at level 5.|
|Twisted Fate||Easy as it gets, this is such a fail pick , you've been handed the lane. If he roams, push hard, once you get tiamat that's an easy turret. He's also really squishy, so an easy kill.|
|Syndra||She can't land her skills fast enough to burst you, and she can't land her skills if she can't see you. Wait until 6 and kill her, or wait pre 6 to see if you can exhaust her mana and then... kill her.|
|Azir||He's as good as useless to his team, you beat him once you hit 6 and maybe even 5 if he didn't poke you too much. Late game you're a high mobility monster, so enjoy your win.|
|Vel'Koz||An easy pick. For Vel to land his skills requires a lot of effort, which for Talon a high mobility assassin makes an easy target.|
Hey everybody, I'm Ze Kraken and welcome to my Talon guide!
What you need to know about me: I love Talon, for a while i had a smurf account where I only played Talon and as troll as it sounds, I got to gold by SUPP/JUNG/TOP/ADC and normal mid-laner Talon. He's simply that good.
I'm not challenger, but I hardly lose a lane with Talon and I have a nice KDA of 12/7/7 in over 200 games this season alone. So you can take this guide pretty serious. Let's get this started then...
Why play Talon?
+ You can one shot everybody, even off-tanks, but never full tanks or hyper tanks.
+ Stealth mode and Area of Effect damage is great for team fights
+ Good wave clear
+ Short ult CD
+ 2 Slows
+ You counter most AP carries
+ He's hard to gank
+ He's underrated, but can carry very hard, nobody will expect you
+ Very strong mid-late game
- Once you ult, you have no other escape
- Has to go in, very deep into the fights
- No heavy CC
- Forces other lanes to pick AP
- Weak early game
How to play Talon Early
You don't deal damage levels 1-4 so focus on farming and keep your potions ready against all poke - and you will get poked! So buy what I told you to! If you get ganked, E towards their jungler and walk away, or if you're worried elise or maokai might snare or stun you, flash after you E towards their jungler. If you have a choice, walk in the opposite direction of them unless it's too risky.
Once you're level 5 you can dish out good damage with your w, you should also be able to buy a pick axe for your tiamat. If they are around half health and don't have heal or shield you can probably kill them off. Tiamat is a must! You can clear waves easier and it will give you some sustain in lane.
Once you hit level 6, unleash talon's full potential, go gank bot or top and watch how they all cower in fear. Or kill your lane. You won't really need blue buff, it's even a good idea to give it to your jungler so they can level up better and be more useful to your team. I personally always take blue late game to improve cool-downs and sure... eventually for mana.
Now you should be strong enough to burst most champs, unless you fell behind. You should be focusing the adc or the ap if they don't have zhonya yet, of course if you're fed, feel free to take on anybody you think you can burst.
E + W + Q + R is your standard bread and butter for 1v1.
In tf's the best choice is usually:
R + E W Q to engage stealthed and so nobody can stun you before you deal your nuke.
Be reasonable, there are more than 1 way to play talon, one is as aoe bomber the other one is as assassin, the latter one leaving you outside the tf waiting for your CD to go off.
