Why hello there ye land lubber! Gangplank is my favorite champion and I play him more than I should. He's pretty much the only champion I'm good with. This is a guide for how I play him and if you would like to give it a try then by all means, go on ahead!

I run flash and ignite. For the escapes and ignite for the kills.

I do magic and armor pen. This will give your static shiv more damage and for your ults to land surprising damages. Plus attack speed runes. More crits = More damage. I also take 27 in offense and 3 in utility. This will help you dish out more damage with both magic and physical damage. The extra boost in speed comes in handy.

I go for avarice blade first and build to static shiv. This will help you farm. Gangplank farms pretty well. Don't forget to last hit everything with Q. Try not to waste it on your opponent unless you have to.

Avarice blade for farming early game.

- By then you should have enough gold to build static shiv. Keep farming until you can get Sheen.

(With these two items, you'll output a lot of damage with Parrrley. Use it on minions still for farming.)

- After sheen get another avarice blade for farming some more. You can now (should be able to) farm very effectively. Remember that killing a unit with Parrrley will grant you gold. So, if you can strategically use Parrrley on a minion that's healthier than ones around it, you should be able to kill up to 4 (Mainly 2). Granting you a lot more gold (With Sheen, and Static Shiv). Use this to your advantage. Next, we build The Brutalizer which will help you farm. Finish up Trinity force and work towards and Phantom Dancer for more critical chance strike and movement speed. After that finish Youmuu's Ghostblade. Follow up with an Infinity Edge and last but not least and Blood Thirster. But what? No boots. Well, the way I play Gangplank, I never buy him boots. His Raise Morale naturally makes him fast. No need.

100% Crit GP is pretty neat. Remember to be in the back line shooting away and seeing that awesome damage! Pick your targets carefully and land those 2 shots to kill that squishy ADC.
