Aww, cuuuute
I was drawn to Lulu for her unique playstyle and of course to her ultimate, Wild Growth, or as we all know it by: HUGIFY!! Her unique skill set separates her from the rest of the support champions in the League. From giving them a false sense of security to saving team mates to making impossible shots, Lulu can do it all and with flair.
This guide is more of a mage support build rather than a tank one that is so popular right now. The idea is to hit harder than their support and be much more active in team fights. No blowing your ult and hiding for the rest of the time, but causing pain with your team and showing them who the real Queen of Sparkles is (ya, thats right Taric, I said it).
She quickly lost track of time. Her life in the Glade was comfortable and natural. She and Pix played fae games together, the sorts of games that she had been told were ''make believe''... and she got exceedingly good at them. It caught her by surprise when she suddenly remembered that she had left a life behind in Bandle City. The Glade had a way of making everything outside seem distant and surreal. Lulu decided to revisit her former home, to share some of the lovely things she'd learned, but when she and Pix returned the world had changed. Time, she discovered, was another property that behaved differently in the Glade, and centuries had passed while she was away. Lulu sought to reconnect to the residents of the outside world but her attempts had unfortunate results. She led all the children off to play hide and seek, temporarily changing them into flowers and animals to spice up the game, but their parents didn't appreciate her efforts. When the yordles insisted that she leave their land, she turned to a vibrant magical place where those with unusual gifts were not just accepted but adored: the League of Legends.

Marks: Magic Penetration
Seals:Gold per 5
Seals:Flat AP
Quintessence:Flat AP
This is an odd setup for a support. The goal here is to poke hard, while still being able to carry into the late game. The gold generated here is equal to that of a philosopher's stone before you add in Greed . You should have your stone at the same time, if not before the enemy support keeping ahead of them ever so much.
The mage aspect of this page are there for you to have fantastic poke and sustain. Lulu is a fairly strong fighter for a support, but more importantly is that she drags on fight. With huge slows and big heals, fights will drag on for quite some time and you should get your damage in on top of your slows.
One more point is that all her protection is in shields. There is no healing after the fact, you must stop it all beforehand. The bonus Ability Power will boost your shields to make sure that your adc feels no pain.

No spell is useless, but let me just skim over why the other spells aren't as effective.
Offensive
Not really necessary because you have the fantastic speed boost Whimsy. Flash is better to vary your escape patterns. |
Lulu's passive does not scale off AP. Thats why this is not worth it. Only if you wanna be big should you get this. |
Defensive
A very niche spell that Lulu does not fit into |
You are supporting, and should not get a spell that only benefits you |
People will cry and whine and dodge the queue. You will never start a game with this spell, so don't bother. |
Utility
You can use this spell to save teammates from across the map, but with how squishy Lulu is it might not be the best idea. |
Great for pushing, but again, people will complain. Unless you have constant ward coverage, you will get ganked a lot using this spell. |
A decent spell late game that quickly spirals into uselessness late game. If you manage your mana, you should be fine, though you could try it out in a really aggressive poke lane with, say, Ezreal. |
Just note that Lulu has very strong harass, but like all champs, is mana hungry if you spam. Make sure you make your shots count. As strong as zoning is, that doesn't mean anything if you don't have the mana to save your friends.

Best used on adc if you have choices because they are squishy and they have the highest attack speed to benefit from both. But of course, give it to the dying person that needs it to live first.

Sight Ward |
If you couldn't tell from above, warding is very important. You want to always have at least 2 ward at all times. One should be in the river if you are blue team or in the tribush if you are purple team since those are the most likely routes for junglers to come from. The other should go where ever their support is-the enemy bush if you are pushing or even or your bush if the enemy is pushing hard. Lulu is a shield support, so all damage must be prevented, not recovered from. Having vision on the enemy is crucial. This also allows you to poke rather well. Later in the game, if you have the money to spare, ward the location of the opposite lane with a pink ward or get an oracle to make them play blind.
Boots of Speed
Starting with boots and 2 wards is only possible with Wealth , and may be only viable with gold runes and Greed since they give you a level 1 gp5. With these shoes, you should be able to harass much better than the enemy support, escape ganks with more ease, and always be ready to shield your adc. And with all these benefits, you should still get a philosophers stone at the same time as the enemy support.
Philosopher's Stone
Philosopher's Stone
Lulu really needs the mana regen and the health regen helps a lot since she has no heal. It also builds nicely into a wonderful cdr item, a great stat for any support.
Kage's Lucky Pick
Kage's Lucky Pick
Kick a little more booty with more intense sparkles and get some more gold. I know a lot of people may not like gp5 items, but these 2 actually build into something worthwhile on Lulu, which I will get into on the next item.
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
These boots really shine with Lulu. These, in combination with Shurelya's Revere and Deathfire Grasp give Lulu maxed out cdr. Thats 2.5 seconds of squirrels every 7 seconds, 6 second shields, 5 seconds for insane slows, and 58 seconds between each HUGIFY (not as applicable, but still nice to have). CDR is amazing on Lulu and this makes it so that you never need to steal your mage's blue buff, cause I know you will never miss a shot and waste mana after reading this guide ;)
Aegis of the Legion
This is a fantastic support item. It may not look like much, but don't forget that it applies to everyone in a team fight. If they are all sharing the damage, it can ad up fast. And if that doesn't sell it for you, then it gives everyone 8 more damage, which is pretty amazing by itself, especially for your adc.
Shurelya's Reverie
I've always been more of a Eleisa's Miracle fan myself, especially when you have no Mercury Treads, but its not as ideal on Lulu. For Lulu, you want to get that cdr to spam Whimsy as much as possible. The bonus movement speed is also a great initiator, chaser, ganking tool, and ambush tool.
Will of the Ancients
A good item for giving yourself and your teammates an extra boost in strength and survivability. This item really exemplifies the how this build is support-offensive rather than support-tank.
Deathfire Grasp
Deathfire Grasp is the Kage's lucky pick item that will benefit you more. Yuo already have enough cdr that you don't need Morello's Evil Tomes and for actives, there will probably be 3 ignites on your team, so you should be ok. Thi burst of damage helps you deal just a bit more while you wait for your 2 damaging spells on cooldown.
Alternate Item
Rather than an alternate item guide, let me just tell you to replace Will of the Ancients with whatever you want. I could spent a good half hour explaining why each and every semi-relavent item is good in its own special way, but I trust you know what to do.
If you need to be tankier, be tankier. If you need more mana, get more mana. If you get 4k gold, get a Rabadon's Deathcap. Its easy. Buy what you need if you need it, when you need it.
Alternatively, you can exchange Kage's Lucky Pick with a Heart of Gold if you would still prefer to be a tank rather than a mage, but you will have to make up that cdr somewhere.
The most important being right before you go back. If you are going back, make sure you have enough to buy something in your build AND at least 1 ward, preferably 2. If you have 800 gold on your first back, amazing. You have a Philosopher's Stone. But, that won't do you good if you are going to die as soon as you get back. Ask your adc for a little bit of gold so that you can keep him alive with 2 Sight Wards. I'm sure he will agree to that.
The next is if you are alone. Farm to the best of your adc goes to buy. Adding on to this, you should never leave your lane unless you are healing/buying or their first tower is dead. There is a lot of cs to be had here, and if your adc is not going to take this, then you might as well and buy your items. Of course, if there is a fight by dragon, do what you can if you can. Help those who need help, but don't gank top. Don't assist mid unless they run at your lane. Stay in or near your lane until their tower is dead and you have the freedom.
Your 2nd Sight Ward should be in the bush the enemy support is hiding in. Use this vision to poke them whenever you can and keep them away from your adc. If you can keep a Taric back and unable to stun, then you completely nullify what makes him strong. Also remember to attack them while they are ridiculously slow. Pix will make it hurt.
Use Help, Pix! to poke when you have the advantage. It is stronger per level than Glitterlance, though it is more expensive, so use it in a chase, but don't use it for simple poke.
Always remember to use these 2 spells in combination. If you can't reach their adc, then you can Help, Pix! their support and Glitterlance their adc from this new angle. This is a great finisher and chaser since you just have to hit the slowest one to catch the fastest one. Also remember that Pix can hit the person he is attached to as well, just make sure the angle is right. Point blank is easy, but also vulnerable to abrupt movements.
She also excels against champions that lead the charge with abilities. Mordekaiser will charge straight in without his shield when he is a squirrel and melt very fast. Amumu will also get in and be unable to do what he came there to do.
Lulu's disruption strength is top notch, and she can shut down channel ability users fairly easily. Bountiful Harvest and Infinite Duress will be of little use against a team with Lulu.
The only spell that you can not do this on is Wild Growth, her ultimate. However, knowing when to use it can take time to learn. You want to use it whenever the enemy commits to a target. This will usually be 1 of 2 targets: Your adc or your tank.
Your tank will dive, and enemies that think he is just overextending will focus him. HUGIFY him to keep him alive and to knockup and slow the most champions, leaving them struggling to regain their footing as the rest of your team begins the charge.
Your adc is always vulnerable to being focused early. You want to use [Help, Pix as much as you can to keep them alive and give them the attack boost, but sometimes you will need to HUGIFY them. While a last resort, this is not a bad choice. If they all dive your adc, then they will all suffer the knockup and slow while your adc keeps shooting and everyone else condenses in on them. Combine Help, Pix! and Wild Growth late game and you have 840 extra durability before Ability Power, which you have an unusually high amount of.
I'd say this guide is ready, but I'd be lying. I know there is so much more to Lulu than I probably missed, but I wanna get this out now and check out the feedback. I'll be sure to make updates and fix any issues I see in the future. All that's left to say is Have Fun. Glitter Glitter, Sparkle Sparkle.
