Chapter 1

urret placement is key to playing Heimerdinger. In my experience, the best placement for turrets while laning is in range of melee creeps but just out of range of caster creeps. This allows a reasonable amount of pushing power while keeping your turrets out of trouble. If you keep the turrets far enough away they can also protect you if you are attacked since they don’t have to destroy an entire creep wave before attacking the enemy champion. You also should know who you are laning against. If you are against an Ashe, you can attempt to Congo-line your turrets to absorb the brunt of the damage or you can also try spreading them far enough so only two get hit 80% of the time. If you are laning a hero with “jump” abilities (i.e. fiddlesticks or sivir) spread them out far enough so they don’t all get hit, but keep in mind if you spread them out too far you won’t have all of them hitting the enemy champions! Turret placement takes practice, and should be your number one priority while playing him (Triangles are almost always a very safe bet for turret placement).
Always remember that when you throw down a turret it attacks twice as fast for the first 10 seconds. If you have a nest set up (turrets grouped together), throw down another turret right away for some extra burst damage and debuff stacks. If your turrets are being harassed early game, throw a grenade and start lobbing wrenches. The blind prevents damage from being dealt to your turret, which is very important! Remember you can also port onto turrets, so if you know you are going to blue pill, go ahead and lay one down in the bushes.
Team Fights: Chances are if you play well early-game, you will be a nice little target for the entire team. Since Heimerdinger is 100% Cooldown based, just run around, face roll abilities, rinse and repeat. A dead Heimerdinger is a Heimerdinger doing no damage, so kite around your turrets, spam abilities, and hope that your team is smart enough to fight within range of your turrets. Again, DO NOT AUTO ATTACK if you are getting smacked in the face, kite and face roll, kite and face roll.
