Introduction
Here it is folks; the God of harassing. This is your bread and butter skill. It is the strongest early-mid game nuke (if you crit) and you will be using it to chase, harass, and obliterate people all game. Also, since this has a pretty decent base damage, that gives you time to focus on buying items with crit chance, instead of damage. Max this first, of course.
You would marry this skill if you could. This skill will save you countless times, and really piss people off. Awww, did Malzahar Nether Grasp you and you're stuck in his turret range? You pop this skill and you're out of their while he sits there and cries. Did you get hit by Ashe's Enchanted Crystal Arrow from across the map and you fear her team is going to gank you? Remove Scurvy will save you! What's better then a cleanse/heal? Nothing is. Max this second.
There's nothing much to say about this skill ha. It's a decent local buff that is great help when initiating a team fight. When paired with Remove Scurvy, it's great for escaping ganks. Raise Morale is an alright skill, but the other two are far more important. This is why you max this third.
Most. Useful. Ultimate. In. The. Game. This has SO many uses including: raping team fights, stealing Baron, helping that lonely teammate across the map, killing someone while their hugging turret, pushing people away from the turret while you destroy it, dominating a giant minion wave. The list could go on and on. I love this skill so much.
Pretty standard for a melee carry. Not much to explain here; you should know the reasons for why I picked these. Deadliness will help give you 20% crit chance at level 1 with Brawler's Gloves and your runes.
This is another area where you can change it up. After I finish my Phantom Dancer, I look at their team comp and decide on a defense item. If you're getting fed out the wazoo, then look into getting a Warmog's Armor. But please advise that you NEED at least 1 Phantom Dancer and the Infinity Edge. Bloodthirster is not required, but recommended. If you don't want to get one, then at least get a Vampiric Scepter. Instead of Bloodthirster you can look at their team and decide on what to get. If their team is tank (WITH ARMOR), then get a Last Whisper. If they are tank (WITH HEALTH), then get a Madred's Bloodrazor instead.

Just because you deal lethal blows, doesn't mean you should jump into a teamfight. At the beginning of a team fight, you should hover outside of it and use your Q until you're ready to go in and finish someone off. You can jump in once their team is focusing your tank (remember to focus their squishy's; you need to take them out of the fight in 2-3 hits). Try to only use your cleanse when you're stuck in an ultimate or about to die. The cool down will get you killed if you use it wrong. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS predict where the team fight will last the longest. This is where you need to pop your ulti. Your ulti could make or break an Ace. You will learn how to do this over time.
I believe I play Gangplank in a different way then most people do. Most people believe he is only useful for Parrrley. I believe differently. I build and play him as a AA carry. This, in my opinion, is the best and most useful way to play him. Why would Riot give him a heal/cleanse if he's not going to be in the middle of things? He's extremely powerful throughout the entire game. I love it when little Teemo's try to harass me with their Blinding Dart at low levels. They will run up and maybe do 100 damage while I crit 250 and take out half their health bar. Well, I've pretty much said all I can say. It's up to you now. Give Gangplank a try and I promise you will do well with my build. Please, comment and tell me how you like my build or how you did with it. And don't forget to rate! :) Good luck matey's!
