I'd swap out that Avarice Blade for a philosopher's stone.

I've continued playing this build and dominate games as mid AD carry. I just finished a game 11-1-10 and had 7800 more gold than the highest gold earning player on the opposing team... not to mention I was fully built with Boots 3, Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, Black Cleaver and Bloodthirster (Heart of Gold still remained) at 28 minutes in. The game ended at 36 mintues and I was just a few hundred gold shy of a Warmogs. :)

Oh, and the opposing team had a Twisted Fate that I midded against.

well, i use cait quiet a lot as my main...if you wish you can befriend me and let's play a game as team...or against...i'm very aggressive with cait, always punching my opponent to her tower and then setting traps so she cant leave the turret unless stepping on one...let me use my peacemaker to harass them and taking out the turret...i have faced ashes with the critical equiped...haven't faced one who can cause me enough damage before i kill them...especially since most run away when they see they get me low and then i heal and they end up stepping on a trap and i finish them off...quite unconventional your build

Not necessarily. I can harass just as well with the increased crit chance and Volley and push my lane harder than the opponent in most cases. Even if I am forced to tower hug, Volley helps take out the minions fast at the tower base and keep the champs back off the tower.

The crit chance actually procs often and if you get a couple of those on a champ, it's just as though you had a Doran's Blade. Also, the passive gold earned once you have your Heart of Gold and Avarice Blade keep you well ahead of the other champs even if you cannot last-hit well. That's what makes this a very consistent performing build vs. one that relies heavily on kills and assists to get gold.

Thanks for the comment, I'm always open to criticisms and trying to improve this. I've only been playing this way for a week but have been very, VERY pleased with the results.

I've yet to try a gold build on other champs (Caitlyn, Twisted Fate, Vayne, etc.), so I'll have to start branching out to see if it works the same without the Hawkshot passive.

i know you want gold to get all your items and weapons fast to start killing and harassing...but you have to be careful cause if you go for the mid (which is usually a 1vs1) you'll be playing mostly defensive do to your lack of aggresive skills (early game)...if you play into long range characters or ones who can stun you or become really annoying you may run a deep trouble. i'm telling you this cause i sue cait and have played against players with a similar build as yours and i harass them early game and give them hell do to their lack of aggressiveness. Don't you think it's better to move on a lane with another ally?

Whether via kills, assists, items, skills, minions, monsters or masteries... gold is all the same... and the faster you can accumulate it, the more powerful you will become.
