Introduction/About me

Hello!
The names Romanpuss, if you hope to become the best , then you have come to the right place! I've been a multi season plat player capping out at plat 1 for the past few seasons. I've mained ADC my entire league of legends career, and this champion is definitely my favorite second to Kalista. (Funny how they are nearly the same champion XD)
As soon as and came out I instantly knew they would be extremely fun to play. I have played numerous games with differing builds and have been able to test out which ones seem to work best in different situations. So if you wish to see some higher elo gameplay just catch me on my stream at twitch.tv/romanpuss She might even be my new main :D

Pros / Cons

Pros:
  • Excellent lategame
  • Excellent waveclear
  • Ult enables invulnerability
  • Ultimate enables multi-man root
  • nearly parallels jinx with sieging towers
Cons:
  • Immobile
  • Mediocre chase potential
  • Moderate early game (could be better)
  • Not the greatest duelist against mobile adc's ( , )

Runes

Runes

Domination
Electrocute
Predator
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush
  • Marks: I use 9 flat ad marks for nearly all my adc's. Being an adc main she will need a little oomf to her early game autos to enable early game scrapping, and CSing. These marks are a pretty standard build.
  • Seal: Flat armor seals. Being that you are in the bot lane you will be against another adc 99% of games. (unless it's somthing crazy like a bot lane) Even then it's still advised to run the armor due to the auto attacks early on. The small amount of armor prevents you from getting one shot early on, except by a blitzcrank's Rocket Grab all in. Be careful!
  • Glyph: 4x attack speed with 5x magic resist glyphs. The attack speed helps SO much for CSing especially under tower, you will not regret having it. It also enables you to output more feathers in a smaller amount of time in lane which could be the difference between life and death with somebody is chasing you or the jiungler ganks. The magic resistance prevents you from getting one shot by Brand, Zyra, Karma, etc...not only those supports but the mid laner too if they happen to roam bot and you have to survive a 4/5-man dive from the enemy team. A little bulk goes along way for ADC's.
  • Quintessence: 3x attack speed quints. You want it, you need it, it will keeps you CS up and you trades even if not better than the enemy. Pretty common for most ADC's.

Masteries

Trees

:

[*]Ferocity

:
  • Tier 1: I choose Fury over Sorcery simply because AS is more viable. I've tried sorcery out, but the attack speed feels much better and not nearly as "clunky" with the AS.
  • Tier 2: I believe this is personnel preference. If you a more aggressive player like me I strongly suggest choosing Fresh Blood for some extra trade damage in between CSing, or Feast for more sustain laning phase. Either works well, it all comes down to you and your play style. DON'T pick Expose Weakness , this is terrible for adc's and you are the one doing the most sustain damage, not your support/team late game (most of the time, this is taking lategame into consideration).
  • Tier 3: This tier also comes down to your own playstyle, I would strongly recommend Vampirism due to the fact that it gives a little innate sustain, and the ability lane for a little longer while providing some minuscule healing in team fights when they get rolling. Natural Talent is not a bad choice by any means, but that 10 AD at level 18 is not that important, and a small change even in late game.
  • Tier 4: Double Edged Sword is simply too good of a mastery. I use it on most champions, the bonus damage is excellent and being an ADC, you should not be putting yourself in harms way to be taking damage (in a perfect world). Otherwise, Battle Trance is not a bad option by any means. Being an ADC you deal sustained damage anyway so taking a few seconds to warm up generally won't make or break you. Would not recommend Bounty Hunter , you don't always kill everyone in the game so you are basically missing free damage right from the start of the game.
  • Tier 5: Simple, does not have any AP ratios so please do not pick Piercing Thoughts . You will be just fine with the extra damage from Battering Blows
  • Keystone: I've play nermous games and Xayah now, and after some thought between and I believe warlords is much better. Once they added the increased 25% charge rate on charged attacks this scales your rapid fire along with this keystone. This has enabled me to fend off tanks during the mid/late game do to the extensive healing and increased Xayah's survivability during the laning phase.

[*]Cunning

:
  • Tier 1: Easy decision here, the extra 1 damage is useless from Savagery , so the only other option would be Wanderer . Extra movement is extremely useful for Xayah, this gives her little more of an edge when it comes to juking skill shots prior to her obtaining Featherstorm
  • Tier 2: The only option that makes sense in this tier is Secret Stash so don't bother with anything else. The boosted pots are excellent in bot lane for extra sustain.
  • Tier 3: Merciless is too strong to not use, the boosted damage increases kill potential in lane and overall execution damage throughout the entirety of the game. Always use this no matter what for ADC's as a whole.
  • Tier 4: I like to run Dangerous Game because it has the potential to save you during all ins and fights during the game. Some may under estimate it's power but it has the ability to make the difference between a single kill or a double kill for you. Bandit is 100% useless on ADC, and Greenfather's Gift is decent, but dangerous game so much better from a global game stand point.

Items

This build is designed to utilize every aspect of xayah in a safe hyper carry late game. After Exploring items I have come to the conclusion that is the best for xayah. This provides CDR, mana early game, and crit to scale ur feathers. I would most likely build for your mobility. After essence reaver is built I suggest building a Zeal item. Your ideal option is (Xayah has a lot of wave clear on her own she does not NEED runaans) or if you need a little survivability from assassins/mages I recommend . Once you complete these your zeal item you will most likely start building your if the enemy team does not have more than 1 armor item built. If they do have a few armor items and have a few tanks I strongly recommend rushing . After this A would be ideal if not a if they have heavy AP. If they have heavy CC and you need some escapes then grab a quick silver sash and you will be all set! Remember! All games are circumstantial and are up to you to make the best decisions. To be a better player you need to understand your opponent, what they can do, and what they will most likely do next. If you understand this than you will be able to build appropriately to what they do and counter every move they make!

Spells

Abilities:

  • : This abilities is mainly used to put out more feathers. Relatively low mana cost and should be used to poke in lane.
  • Deadly Plumage": Only use this when you start scrapping with the enemy laner, or during team fights. This provide mobility along with more feathers. Use this kite your enemies.
  • : This is your greatest source of damage. Do not spam it otherwise you will run out of mana early game. If you are going for poke then press Q, AA, E. This is the quickest source of damage and enables a free root. If you are doing an all in/prolonged trade I recommend holding is until you have the maximum amount of feathers out. (in lane this willl most likely be 6-8 feathers. (without ult)
  • : Your greates ability. This grants your largest amount of damage along with the greatest utility. Try to save during during laning phase in attempt to juke the enemies CC abilities. While doing the same for teamfights late game. After you use this try and get a few more feathers out then press E and watch the enemy team melt away! You are likely to get many qudra's/Penta's with this >:D So have fun!

Skill Sequence

Skill Order:

--> --> -->
You will always max your R on almost every champion. It provides you with a free escape from all forms of CC if times correctly. Your ultimate may be used offensively or defensively, or if you truly develop a sense for the champion you will learn how to do both. It offers excellent source of damage as well as escapes due to the root when you use your E. This leads me to your next ability to max. Xayah's E provides her largest damage source while giving her the utility to root multiple enemies at once if she has the feathers out on the field. Her feathers also scale with critical chance. For every 1% of crit, her damage on her E increases by .5% This is why crit is so important on Xayah. Her E gives her excellent seiging power starting from mid game on, (if you have with you, then you will both melt a tower in a matter of seconds) and lastly her Q. Do not max this first EVER! It's damage is lackluster and should only be used to obtain more feathers. Max this last and you will be good to go!

Early Game

Xayah's early game is about average when looking at most adc's. Play it like you would for most of them, farm up, poke when you can and try to survive in lane. Your best poke combo consists of Q, auto, E if you need to quickly root somebody. This combo will enable you a few extra auto attacks or allow you support to land their skill shot's on the enemy adc. Be aware of where the jungler is at all times, and if you are unsure try and ask you teammates when they last saw them. If you jungler knows what they are doing then they will be able to notify you as to where the enemy is headed and which side of the map he will most likely be on. Try to communicate with you support via pings in game. Ping's are the best source of communication in league of legends, and given there is no voice com, it would take too long to type out every move you wish to make. People may get irritated by spam pinging, but it's proven that doing so is the best way to get the point across! So ping away, but in a beneficial manor! Also, WARDS, WARDS, WARDS! It's not only your support's job to keep you safe. You must contribute as much as possible and every opportunity I get, I buy a Control ward.

Mid Game

Once things break out of lane be careful. Pay attention to how strong you are vs. your opponent, while also paying attention to both mid laners and top laners. If you are stronger then your lan opponents I recomend remaining bot in order to maintain you strength and try and pull some pressure away from the other two lanes. If you are not then try to farm up and scale accordingly. Your goal will be to avoid 5v5 teamfights if you team is weaker than the enemey. Simply keep CSing while helping your team out when possible. If you wish to "bounce" a wave then push the waves until it's past the half way point on the map and it will run into their tower, and bounce back to you. Be careful with this trick as they minions will eventually stack back up on your tower, so be ready for it before it crashes into you tower. Ward and farm and you will be all set through mid game.

Late Game

This is your time to shine! Lategame ADC is the best part of playing the role. You are singularly the most important member on you team. If you mess up, them there is a large chance that you will lose, due to the fact that you should be the largest source of damage on your team. This is not the case for every game, but is a general idea. Ideally you want to fight in a situation where there is no place for you to get flanked. Position yourself so you may hit as many people as you can with your . Stay behind you frontline (if you have one) and stay alive! You alive is better than dead no matter what you are doing, or who you are attacking. Try and communicate with your support and other teammates about possible threats that your team is not aware of.
Basic Rules for late game:
  • NEVER be by yourself
  • Always be aware of missing threats
  • Pay attentions to you team
  • Pay attention to your teams CD's (i.e if you support is about to have flash and EXH up in 30 seconds then wait until those are up before fighting! try and ask your team to wait)
  • KEEP AUTO ATTACKING! There's a fine line to what you can survive by running and what you can survive by attack moving.( helps with this)
