Late Game Choices
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Gonna try to avoid a huge wall of text post and will go straight to details on my favorite midlaner, Annie The Dark Child. It's a shame she is mainly played as a support since her kit is very strong as a midlaner capable of bursting down teams with Tibbers alone.
Pros / Cons
Mid Game Terror
Doesn't really fall off late game
Ult is devastating
Relies heavily on positioning
Flash is an engage not an escape
Flash is the only tool for escape
If you miss ult, 40% of damage is gone
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
For Masteries Full Offensive With A Little Tankiness Instead of Utility
The little difference can mean life or death when flashing into a teamfight.
Your passive Pyromania is what makes or breaks a great Annie player. It is key to learn from experiences when it is wise to hold on to it or use it.
Usually if there is a big wave approaching tower and there are no signs of a dive, use Disintegrate and Incinerate to avoid loosing minions.
However keep in mind Pyromania can stop dives and can usually net in a kill or two.
If you see an opportune moment to flash kill the any high priority enemy champions, 8/10 it is a good idea. It will net in objectives like Dragon or Towers.
Try to always have stun up. It is a saving grace and can deal a killing blow to an enemy team. Catching someone off guard can lead to Baron or even the game.
Maxing Q first means better trading during laning phase.
Maxing W second for the aoe cone damage.
Don't Forget about her Molten Shield. It increases her resistances, while burning the opponents alive.
Many people do not think this, but a matchup can shift heavily into your favor by buying the right starting items.
7/10 Usual start. The health, early ap, and mana regen passive is great. No other words needed.
This start is for champions who rely on skillshots to do damage. Perfect for ziggs and xerath. Helps with dodging and gives potions for sustain.
For champion who rely on AD. Good against champions like zed and yasuo. The armor is nice and the pots helps you sustain through the damage.
Items (Mid Game)
CORE ITEMS. They provide great damage while increasing resistance. If against an AP caster, build abyssal then a zhonyas. If they are AD, rush the zhonyas before the abyssal.
Rushing abyssal has made it a walk in the park to nullify mage assassins like Leblanc and pokers like Ziggs. Plus the MR shred synergizes with your close range skills. Getting either the Blasting Wand or Negatron Cloak is fine. Itemize for your lane.
The Zhonyas takes down Zed and other Ad casters. Make sure to build the Seeker's Armguard first.
No matter who the opposing champion is, I build with whatever corresponds with it.
Don't forget to upgrade boots. Either of the two work and both are a charm.
Items (Late Game)
After buying those items, late game will most likely occur. Where all the baron throws and picks and Stealth Ward matters.
This item is the holy grail for AP casters. (Excluding Athene's Unholy Grail of course)It provides for major damage and honestly does not need any more words. However, DO NOT get this item if you are losing.
Get THESE Instead.
Good ole Rylai's. The Health does not go to waste since it synergizes with your E. You gain more resistances from the Zhonya's Hourglass and Abyssal Scepter. Overall not a bad addition to your build if you find yourself being poked, focused, or just wanting more tank.
Enemy team building MR? Buy this to counter their counter. Penetration + AP makes it a worthwhile pickup.
Good item to buy when enemy team has a lot of health and you need more penetration along with the Void Staff.
League is a game where the person who makes the fewest mistakes wins. This item is a safety net if you are out of position. It can block the one CC spell that can mean defeat. PLus the MR doesn't hurt.
I repeat DO NOT get stacking items like Tear of the Goddess. Although you spam skills, it will take a long time to finish them and frankly the items they upgrade into do not outweigh the benefits the other items give.
Annie has one job in teamfights. That is to blow up one person while also lowering the health of the champion surrounding your target. That is where Flash comes in handy. Annie becomes a kamikaze, initiating a fight with Tibbers, then quickly use Incinerate and Disintegrate before activating Zhonya's Hourglass. With any luck, the enemy team could have wasted aoe spells/ ultiamte to hopefully stop your terror. However, Annie cannot be stopped.
All in all, Annie is a high damage dealing little girl that should not be messed with. Although immobile, she can single handedly turn a game around with excellent positioning and timing. She can be deceptively tanky and can absolutely carry. Don't Mess With the Little Girl. Hopefully you guys enjoy my first guide. I will slowly add detailed counters day by day.
