Introduction
Welcome
Hi, my name is easyjet (easyyet on LoL) and this is the first guide I've made. Recently soraka has been reworked, with lots of criticism and negative reactions on the changes. It is quite understandable, with the fact that Soraka was a very basic support and has good supportive early game potentials. In the new rework many of these abilities and stats has been removed. Giving mana is completely gone and the simplicity of returning health to any champ, including yourself, is not present.
I will not go into full details about the changes. What I can say however is that the reworked Soraka is underestimated. For one, Soraka's build has to adapt to her new body to get it to full potential. Also, the new Soraka does fit in with the current meta. I've played her a lot in the past few weeks and what I found out is that she has actually good teamwork compatibility, and is a maniac at keeping her allie alive. I didn't find many guides who explained her as she is supposed to be used. I've tried the build of other guides that covers the new Soraka, but I believe they need a finishing touch. This is the reason I have started my own guide.
In the following guide I will cover all that is needed to get the hang of Soraka. Every item, decision or strategy will be explained and why it suits the reworked Soraka. I hope it works as good as it does for me, and that we can look into Soraka as a whole new awesome champion with a lot of new great potentials, and not as a slump of the old Soraka.
Pros
+ Can poke from distance + Heal/sec is ridiculous + Decent amount of cc + Ult that can affect outcome of other lanes Starcall is very important in lane, because it will be you lowest cooldown damage output and health regen ability at the same time. You can use Starcall from a rather safe distance as main poke. With your Astral Infusion you can heal your allie, with a very low cooldown, making it a perfect ability to grant a lot of health in a very short time, not to forget your ult, which heals your entire team for a certain amount. With the slow of your q and the root of your e you now have some crowd control for both defensive and aggressive purposes. |
Cons
- Squishy start - Needs both health and mana to be useful - Low viable damage output - Has no good escapes The early game will be tricky, because you are kinda squishy, and have to sacrifice your already squishy start even more for your adc. If you don't hit your abilities, you will not only lack damage output, but you also won't regain enough health to survive long enough. The cc that you have is hard to land and are very mana heavy to use, this leaves you vulnerable to ganks. |
