OH FUX !
Every time I pop Lux's ultimate, this pops into my head.
Hey Guys ! just wanted to say it's my first build and that you read all of it to get an understanding of Lux and how to own with those lasers !
If you already have the idea of how to use Lux please also read most of it to get an idea of how i play her and if you have any suggestions please comment below !
you may find this guide very colourful at time's so if you suffer from being emoness and liking only white and black then do not continue, other then that let the rainbow colours synergies with her awesome MELTING FACE LASER !
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
Greater Quintessence of Cooldown Reduction
By end game you should have laser's at about 26-31.5 seconds depending on whether you have Mejai's fully stacked and if you buy situational items such as Frozen Heart.
Flash is a must, easy for a way to get Lux's stuns in and screw them up, or a way to get through walls for juking them !
Clarity in my opinion is great early and late, it lets you spam your spells early allowing for harass and also it sustains you longer in lane since Lux requires a lot of mana for her abilities
Other viable's :
This is good for those finishing hits, also if your laning with Vladimir for example who relies on heal to sustain.
Help in ganks really well and save a turrent or push on one.
Masteries.Offence masteries are pretty self explanatory, who wouldn't want more damage under their belt. Although if your wondering why I went with Utility instead of Defence it is because:
Summoner's insight - Synergies with her summoner spells.
Good hands - So you can get back in the fight !
Swiftness - Because Lux needs that extra movement to chase or get away.
Runic affinity - Longer buffs, why not ?
Pros & Cons.
+ She has a stun.
+ She has a slow.
+ She has massive nuking ability. (if you remember to use your passive.)
+ Her Ultimate can screw up everyone ! and its range is crazy to.
+ Her shield can stop Teemo Shrooms, Ignites, Mordekaiser's Ult!, poison you name it !
+ She can light up my world like nobody else ! ( hold on I'm not bent..)
+ Can actually carry.
- She is squishy beyond measure.
- is reliant on Mana pool ( I strongly recommend you use my items.)
- becomes targeted in team fights.
- must be able to aim her skill shots, otherwise useless.
- hard to master.
This is your passive, this will be your poking ability early and late game with Lich bane, where I will explain later on.
Amazing ability, this is your double stun that can grab you that double kill with your ultimate, save you from ganks, when running away can buy you time and not to mention the range on this ! This should be maxed 2nd.
What can I say about this ability.. it is AMAZING, it has saved me and my team countless times, nothing can really penetrate it, it can stop those annoying shroom damage, ignites, morderkaiser's ultimate and much more, the only bad thing is REMEMBERING TO USE IT, I cannot stress enough how much people forget to use this ability, it is just to important to ignore. This should be maxed last.
Pretty much your bread and butter, it will be your poke early game and late, your slow for ganks and get away's and a way for you to slow them stun them and ulti them and hear them say ' OH FUX '
THIS IS YOUR ' IMA FIRIN MY LAZAR ' ability. This is what makes Lux, Lux ahah, the range on this amazing ability is crazy, not to mention the damage it inflicts on your enemies. you'll find that the combo's you create with Lux are just way to much for the enemy to handle, and just watch they'll be screaming your name for the rest of the game. This should be levelled ASAP.
Why I start with Amplifying tome and Health Potion ?
I choose this first along with Health potion so I can build it into a Mejai's quicker, and Health potion to sustain in lane till I have the gold for Mejai's
(having said that, if you are not good with Lux and have trouble staying alive for the stacks I recommend you skip Mejai's and work on rabadon's or archangel's staff.)
First time back to base :
ORIf you have enough.
(I would recommend sorcerer's shoes if you are new to Lux)
Why Sorcerer's instead of Ionion ?
In my opinion you wont really need the extra cooldown because your attacks need that magic penetration to nuke them even harder, and as we already have Cooldown Reduction runes there's no need for the boots.
When your level 6 and over :
Now it can be argued that rabadon's would be the better choice here, but if you think about it rushing archangel's staff would mean more mana by the time you get rabadon's meaning more AP since archangel's staff's ability converts 2% of your mana into AP damage, making archangel's the smarter choice. (after getting one or the other you'll be building into the other anyway so choosing one of these now or later isn't really an issue.)
Now an item that really kicks in with your passive and abilities :
This item is amazing, it not only add's 30 magic resistance, 80 AP, 7% movement speed and 350 mana, it has a passive that whenever you use your abilities it activates and causes your next basic attack to hit as much AP as you have!
For example :
hitting someone with your Lucent Singularity will activate both your passive and this item, now your passive is when Lux damages her enemy with spells charges the target with energy for 6 seconds. Lux's next attack ignites the energy, dealing 10 + (10 x level) magic damage to the target now adding Lich bane's active will add your AP to the damage !
say you were level 18, your Lucent Singularity did 540 damage (240 base and 300 AP) meaning you have 500 AP, adding Lich bane's ability this damage equals, 540 + 180 + 500 = 1120 !
now this is with one ability ! imagine if you were to throw your stun and then your lucent and then ulti ? there is just to much damage for enemies to withstand !
Finish up :
now this is probably an item that requires you to use at the right moment, it may as well save your *** over an over if you remember to use it, by now the team will be targeting you so this is a good way to counter.
Optional items to get :
Frozen Heart - This is a good item to counter AD carry's and add towards your Cooldown reduction.
Banshee's Veil - Good item to stay alive and also counter carry AP
Rod Of Ages - Great item for health and also add's towards archangel' ability.
Thornmail - Counter those AD carry's but also if Frozen heart wasn't enough this is a viable choice.
Morello's Evil Tome - This is a great item although i dont find this item really fit's in my build, but if it does for you then go for it.
Team Work, You Can Save Them.
So teamwork huh, I know people want to just carry the game and be the star, but really without the team you will be destroyed. You have an awesome shield that I said earlier can prevent pretty much everything ! also her lucent singularity isn't just for damage it also slows the enemy's which can really buy time for you and your team to run or chase, and her stuns can also be used vice versa. Don't forget she is a support character and has the abilities to support, keep that in mind.
When in team fight's try keep your distance, Lux doesn't need to be close to deal major damage, just use your amazing long ranged abilities and nuke them from the distance ! ( don't forget about Lich bane, otherwise you would be losing a lot of damage output! )
Your ultimate isn't just for the killing shot, it can also be used to initiate fight's, this shouldn't even be a problem because you have a ton load of Cooldown reduction you'll have your ultimate in no time !
Lastly communicate with your team, call ganks, call mia's, call dragon or baron, or even call for buffs, you must do this if you want to succeed in the game.
