Hecarim

I think Hecarim is very good jungler because he have life steal in skill, nice gangs, and good Q skill. He doesn't must be tank, he is very good off-tank.

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation
Why armor penetration?
U need it to get more hp from Q and from auto attack f.e. when u push tower.

Greater Seal of Resilience
Why armor?
When u start jungling and u'r team is not the best and u have to solo BLUE u need some armor and when attack RED.

Greater Glyph of Shielding
Why magic resist?
F.e. when u gang at 4:00 minute or when enemy team will steel u'r blue and they have more ap.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation
Why armor penetration?
When u start jungling and u'r team is not the best and u have to solo BLUE u need some armor and when attack RED.

21 Offense


Butcher 1/2
Minimal dmg for monster's but we have get 4 points.
Summoner's Wrath 1/1
Aditional speed from ghost, so more dmg
Brute Force 2/3
Flat damage is always nice.
Alacrity 4/4
Attack speed is helpful but this is more so to be able to get the next tier mastery.
Demolitionist 1/1
When u gang f.e. bot and u win little team fight, and u push tower some dmg is very need.
Deadliness 4/4
Some dmg and next masteries.
Weapon Expertise 1/1
10% armor pen doesn't do all to much early on but end game it is a MUST.
Lethality 1/1
hitting 10% harder on your crits will help, especially once you get a Zeal or Phantom Dancer.
Vampirism 2/3
The extra life steal is need when u start jungling.
Sunder 3/3
6 armor penetration too monster's.
Executioner 1/1
This not only helps killing champions but will increase your damage and clear time in the jungle as well.

9 Defense


Summoner's Resolve 1/1
10 extra gold on Smite will start to add up 20-30 minutes into the game ;).
Resistance 2/3
A bit more flat magic resit to complement your runes.
Hardiness 3/3
Flat armor will further increase your survivability early on in the jungle.
Tough Skin 2/2
2 flat reduction on attacks really pays off when 3-4 minions hit you 6-8 times each.
Bladed Armor 1/1
Referring to the previous reason, when 3-4 minions are hitting you 6-8 times each, this is a ton of free AOE damage to speed up your clear time.

Items

When u start jungling u can buy Boots of Speed and 3 health potions or Cloth Armor and 5 health potions. Then u but Wriggle's Lantern to faster cleaning jungle and have some armor, dmg and life steal, if u have this item's u have to choise between Mercurial's or Ionian's, select Mercurial's when enemy team have good CC, when they don't have good CC get Ionian's to faster using Q.Now buy Phantom Dancer, speed attack, movement speed and crit chanse is very good for Hecarim.
When u have Phantom Dancer u can get Warmog's Armor or Frozen Mallet. So, we have some dmg, life steal, movent speed and attack speed, but we don't have too much armor so we buy Atma's Impaller, ok we now we have armor too but we don't have magic resist so we buy Force of Nature. We have full eq but when u don't end match and u have some money u can sell Wriggle's Lantern and buy Bloodthirster.

Summoner Spells

I think the best choise are Smite and Ghost.

Smite
Aditional 10g per use (70 sec cooldown), faster cleaning jungle, we don't need anymore.

Ghost
Aditional movement speed so we can fast back to team fight or help u'r team in escape, better gang's and when we r faster we have more dmg.

Skill Sequence

Warpath (PASSIVE)
Good when we gang and minions don't help u u can ignore this little demon's and kill an enemy :D

Rampage (Q)
Little cooldown, good dmg and only 25 mana per use!

Spirit of Dread
Life steal and AOE dmg, we don't need anything more.

Devastating Charge
Dmg, movement speed and help in ganks or escape.
This skill attack tower's!

Onslaught of Shadows (ULTIMATE)
Dmg, fear, help in gang and help in escape!
