Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
|Since his first sighting on the northwestern shores of Valoran, the towering, armored specter known as Hecarim struck a chilling fear into the hearts of all who laid eyes upon him. No one had ever seen anything like his titanic, ethereal form before, and the mystery of his sudden arrival was deeply unnerving. When Hecarim began to march eastwards, leaving a trail of desolate, lifeless ground behind him, the villagers of the plains fled their homes for the safety of nearby Demacia. In the city's now-overcrowded taverns, rumors about this inhuman phantom spread in hushed whispers. Some claimed that he was the vengeful shade of an ancient warrior, intent on destroying all living beings; one man insisted that they had seen him leading an entire legion of spectral cavalrymen; others still believed him to be the creation of some hateful necromancer. One Demacian commander, seeking to dispel the terror that had gripped the city, assembled a few of his finest soldiers and rode out to turn back or destroy Hecarim.
The commander led his soldiers to stand in Hecarim's path and braced for his assault. As the apparition bore down on them, an overwhelming sensation of dread gripped the warriors. The men, frozen in fear, could only scream as the ghostly titan ran them down, tearing them apart and trampling them beneath his iron hooves. Hecarim turned to the crippled, cowering commander and uttered a chilling statement: "This is merely the beginning. No mortal army can withstand the might of the Shadow Isles." With that, Hecarim departed, resuming his grim march. Driven to insanity by his nightmarish experience, the commander stumbled back to Demacia, where his dire warnings were dismissed as the ravings of a madman. While Hecarim's origin and intent were still a mystery, his destination became clear when he reached the Institute of War and, in a voice both ominous and commanding, demanded entry into the League of Legends.
"You don't understand... the shadows will consume us all..."
Former Demacian Commander
Welcome to my guide for Hecarim, the new speedy *** champion. Hecarim
Hecarim is a new champ as of 18/04/12. He is a jungle/lane champion and is amazing at ganking. His abilities are mainly AoE but that doesn't mean he can't pump out the damage. He can have amazing movement speed increase without sacrificing other stats such as AD or Defense. This makes him one hell of a champion to be reckoned with. His passive, Warpath is basically a constant ghost and at level 18, he has 25% of his movement speed added to his AD. With the full build this is about +60 ad.
As the stats above don't tell you. The AD would be much more, aswell as the movement speed.
Since the Bloodthirster stacks don't count and the movement speed AD increase don't. The end AD should be about 250+
Also the movement speed should be around 510 or more.
Also get wrecked son
The reason I have chose these items is because, the more movement speed you have, the more AD you have, simple. At level 18, 25% of your bonus movement speed is converted into AD, meaning that you can sacrifice AD items for more movement speed, as you won't lose much AD.
Also by having the , you increase your defenses and stop yourself from being an easy target.
is there to increase your damage since all movement speed items, won't give you enough damage overall.
Finally the two give you an epic movement speed increase, and attack speed and crit strike, meaning your is the only thing you need for damage, since you're gonna be critting all day long.
The , is just a nice hybrid items which will boost your AP skills but also give you + everything else Hecarim is in need of.
If you want some tenacity to save you from CC, grab Mercury's Treads rather than Boots of Swiftness
Obviously, you want to engage with your Devastating Charge. The only problem with this is if you use it to catch up to anyone, you have to make sure not to actually hit them, since you're gonna push them away from you. So I suggest using it to catch up and run along side or even get infront of them and push them back down the lane.
This ability is superb for ganking since if a team is over-extending, you have alot of time and room to come up from behind and push them into the tower.
With all the items and your charge ability, i've reach 690 movement speed, which is REALLY fast.
Your Rampage, is just spammable, get in a teamfight or gank? Just press the hell out of this button, it will slice everyone in half, super fast. Also useful for farming as it is AoE and does decent damage, I wouldn't suggest using this to farm early game.
Your Spirit of Dread, is a nice survivability tool and great for jungling. Once you have this and your life steal, no one can take you down. 1 on 1 anyway.
Finally your Onslaught of Shadows is totally up to you when to use. It's great for closing gaps and just making sure you get that kill. When in teamfights, I suggest saving this for when someone is channeling an ulti, or when you really need the push. Since it has nice damage and a great aoe fear.
Pros / Cons
+AoE fear ulti
+No unit collision = great chase/escape
-Open to CC
As you can see, not many cons.
Hecarim can play either. Alot of people play jungle with him since he is a great ganker, however you don't have to. Just switch to and change your masteries to give you better minion damage and defense. Easy! No need to change the build, just stack some pots and off you go!
0/9/21 is the best, gives you the hp you need while going fast.
go fast deal dmg
Build is Boots - Spirit Stone - Kindlegem - Elder Lizard - Spirit Visage
From there on go Gauntlet if you're doing well but if you are getting killed too much and need more hp go Warmogs or Sunfire
pickup Gauntlet if you didnt have it and go tanky as ****
trust me im pro as **** katsuie is constantly saying "wow pruney you're so good i wish i was like you"
I did not steal this section, 100% legit originals
This build is probably the best in terms of utility for Hecarim. It provides brilliant chase without sacrificing AD.
