This is a very unique build that will help you succeed in Dominion. If you don't know what character to play and you decide to play Heimerdinger, you have came to the right place. As soon as dominion launched, I have been playing Heimerdinger like crazy and trying to find a good build to succeed in Dominion. I finally found something that worked, and I would like to share it with you. Even though this build looks crazy, if you play right, there is a great possibility that you will go flawless. This build shows how can Heimerdinger can be a nuker, and at the same time a survivor and escape artist. Heimerdinger's main objective in Dominion is to defend bases like a pro with his turrets, and move fast and sneakily into enemy caps. Cap the base, drop two turrets, and defend and communicate with your teammates.
The runes I go with are very simple. Let me explain. The armor and magic resist are both for early game and late game. They help when you are getting chased by that Trynd and you have that extra armor or you are getting run down by a Veigar and you have that early magic resist to help you escape. The AP per level is just to help you achieve your nuking capabilities. And the Swiftness is for... Swiftness. Dominion is all about speed and mobility. This will help you get to enemy caps faster, defend faster, and be a more mobile character.
You start off with 1375g in Dominion. So I pickup Boots of Swiftness, a Cloth Armor, a Health Potion, and a Mana Potion. This will help you go flawless every Dominion game you play. Boots of Swiftness help you rush Wind Mill. Cloth Armor and HP and Mana pots are just a nice addition to that extra gold you have. Then I start building Abyssal Scepter, Zhoyna's, Rylai's, Banshee's Veil, and a Deathcap. Every single item in this build is defensive, but also offensive.
I like to max my turrets out at rank 3 until level 17. This is because I like to have 2 turrets up at all times. I don't really care about extra health or splash damage that rank 4 and 5 give you. Hextech Micro-Rockets can do up to 500 damage non-crit when you finish your build, so I like to max them out ASAP. I use Ch-1 Concussion Grenade early game for stuns, but for late game it is nice damage. So I max that out late game. For your ult, ALWAYS make sure you have two turrets down or you are able to DROP two turrets down. I use my ultimate for two things. Escaping, and preventing enemies from escaping.
Exhaust is paired great with your ult, escaping, chasing, and helping other teammates. I usually pop ghost as soon as I get out of the "gates" of Dominion so I can get to the Wind Mill ASAP. But Ghost is the main Summoner Spell for Dominion because it allows great movement speed. And Dominion is all about... You got it. Swiftness!
With this build, you can survive a team fight while doing massive damage and moving fast. In my opinion, that is all you need in Dominion.
