Hi, the turrets are affected by magic pen runes, masteries, items?

@Ark27:

Heimer's turrets scale with your ability power, and apply your magic penetration stats.
That includes Archaic Knowledge .

They are also affected by your enemy's magic resistance (including any magic reduction affecting them such as Abyssal Scepter.

They do not apply item on-hit or proc'd effects such as Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Malady

I would of thought that Galio would be a pretty good counter for Heimer too, seeing as his magic resist blocks most of the damage from Hextech Micro-Rockets and the CH-1 Concussion Grenade, and Resolute Smite completely crushes Heimer's turrets. Combine that with Bulwark and Idol of Durand, and your turrets are pretty much helping him to kill you.

@Phenolatukas:

Galio might be a threat, he's suppose to be an anti-mage in general.

But early game, Heimerdinger is at an advantage when Galio has not built up any magic resist yet; in terms of lane strength, early game, Heimerdinger is fairly on-par with pushing and trumps Galio easily with harass (you can dodge Galio's smite and wind, you can't dodge Heimerdinger's rockets).

Been using this build ever since I tried Heimer and love it.

Had to modify it vs a strong yi, Ken, and Chogath to get Thornmail to replace the Hourglass, Lich Bane to replace the Scepter, and the Deathcap replaced the Soul Shroud. It worked, but did you think it was a good decision? The idea was to make them pay for basic attacks, get some armor, and get some huge power to knock down Chogath's health as fast as possible. I was experimenting with Lich Bane and Archangel combo. I would really appreciate your feedback.

Also, will you be modifying this build for Dominion play? Or do you think there doesn't need to be any changes to match the faster pace and aggressive play? With Turrets, Heimer would be a great choice to guard the points.

@Ape3PO

Junsupport said he wasn't going to make a dominion guide, but there is no doubt that you will be following a different approach in Dominion.

Here's my take on Dominion Heimer if you are interested in hearing:

Bot vs top Heim:
EVERYONE seems to think Heim belongs at bot. I say it's a waste of a good Heimer. Bot is by far the easiest to defend point, so why have the best defender waste the game sitting there. Heim can defend and hold top very well and people have to stop assuming heim always goes bot. That being Said, heim obviously can bot if that's what you like doing.

Runes:
Same except swap half of the Greater Seals of Cleansing for something else, I use cooldown reduction just because I find I am always waiting for my spells to cooldown. (Dominion's passive mana regen and mana/health pots on the field do the rest) Also I use speed quints, since moving around the map in Dominion as quickly as possible is so important.

Masteries:
Same, except I threw a point into the extended shrine buffs, for speed boosts and junk, figured it was worth a point.

Skilling:
At the start I take a point in each skill, because blind/stun when taking the windmill is a godsend. Then max turrets first. Then rockets, then grenades, obviously taking a point in your ult whenever you can. The reason I max turrets first in dominion is because they defend and push points so much better than they do in Rift. With proper turret placement, your opponents wont be able to just charge past them and kill you like they can in Rift. This especially becomes true when you're hugging a capture point, ult, garrison, grenades, rockets, and pop zhonya's. This works even when multiple people try to dive in on you.

Items:
I start with boots, Prospectors ring, and two pots. The ring is great for the early hp.

build your sorc boots next. The rest of the build is still experimental, but I have been having success in building Void Staff and Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

The rest of the build then caters to whatever defense I need, I'll often buy negation cloak and/or chain vest if I seem to be dieing to quickly, then building those into Zhonya's Hourglass (or Thornmail) and abyssal scepter (or force of nature).

If I am doing well that game I will buy the deathcap instead of zhonya's.

Summoner Spells:
Ghost- great for getting around the map faster, and saving those points with your far reaching rockets (stopping 3 different people on the same point with one move is just awesome)

Garrison- Dunno why anyone would not choose this spell. It is so overpowered. Lets you stop multiple people from neutralizing your point while at a good distance and gives you time to get there and defend. The added bonus to attack damage is just icing on the cake for when people try to dive you. I never use it offensively on their points, since it is just easier to have a player begin capping while the others clear your opponents out.

+1
nice build and decent description

I usually get the grenades earlier for the blind (lifesaver for allies/you + their AD will hate you) or stun if someone stands in front of your turrets..
