Unfortunately I wasn't around for the days of 3 turret heimer, but I want to give props to this guide after picking up heimer for the first time and maintaining a 1.5 K/D ratio.

Great guide. Really helped me get started with Heimer. Now he's my favorite champ. Play him as often as I can. VERY underestimated.

In fact ... I got flack from a Nocturne player for choosing him. Was told that Heimer was the worst champ in the game. Then I got first kill, pushed top lane, and ended with only 4 deaths (mostly due to the Nocturne player's incessant feeding).

THIS GUIDE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED THOUGH. It's been too long since it's been looked at. Hasn't been modified since the Xerath patch ... at least that's what it looks like.

@balder: He also hasn't been touched in a patch since WAY before that... Riot ignores poor Heimy.

I like the guide a lot, except I'd get 1 rank in grenade quite a bit earlier, like level 2 or 3, if I'm playing lane support. It really can save you or your partner's butt, and in any serious fight you should be able to hit with it 100% when they engage. The full 1.5 second stun from rank 1 grenades can really help in early gank or 2v2 fight situations and even totally turn them around. At mid I'm all for rushing rockets though, I usually level them as fast as possible for their godly harass power.

I figure since you're waiting till 8 to get level 3 rockets anyway, there's really not much difference between rank 1 and rank 2 rockets until then. rank1 rocket+rank1 grenade does more damage than rank2 rockets anyway, and is more likely to hit one or both enemies. Even if you don't get a stun, grenade has a large area it still does full damage in, and it hits from very long range. I also find it better than rockets for zoning enemy champions, especially melee, and it's also an incredibly good reveal spell, great for flushing out bushes from a safe distance.

Might want to take W first when your opponent is playing defensive and/or you're leashing (done that.) Also, might want to take E first if you're engaging a level 1 teamfight.

Got a 2/0/8 on my first game with this. (Mid w/ Ashe, she flames me a lot for picking Heimerdinger and got killed a lot by my turrets because of overextending.)

I disagree. Q first is always best in my experience.

Leashing can be done just fine with his normal attack. A turret will help him at level 1 vs a defensive enemy more than anything else since it will help him last hit more quickly and reliably, and at that level his wrench is more reliable for harassing champs that are trying to play defensively anyway. His wrench does close to the same damage as rank 1 rockets with each hit. The rockets are quite low damage at rank 1, trying to harass with them at that point is hardly worth the mana.

And for a level 1 teamfight, while a stun can be useful (IF you manage to hit with the grenade dead-on), the damage from the turret at that level is truly overpowering and a lot more reliable, equivalent to another champion on your side focusing and reliably hitting enemies in the area; especially tearing a hole into any enemy that dares to try and kill you. Grenade on the other hand, has a long enough cooldown at rank 1 that you will only be able to get one shot off, and then it does you no good the rest of the fight.

At level 1 with a fight going on, nobody will be able to kill the turret. Placed strategically at a chokepoint or in a key piece of brush it can devastate the enemy team and it will continue to do large amounts of damage as long as any enemy is in range. If you can place it as the fight starts or have one available in ammo to put it in a better position during the fight, do so, it gets a 50% attack speed boost for 6 seconds right after placement, attacking at a frightening 1.8 attacks/second.

Nice love your build and guide didn't have the time to read it all but i know its good because i just plaid my second game with heimer and i got 12/8/25 modified the build at the end cause i had a lot of cash to waste (farmed a lot) so thx really nice guide +1 for sure

i was fighting against a master yi and a olaf on the same line (top)
and i died until i get rabadon (then if they do not destroy the towers they will take some serious damage :P )

Yo dude your guide is beast(GodLike).Do you mind posting some tips on fighting gay characters like tyrandmere and people like master yi and olaf who cant get slowed by your ulti combined with your turrets.
