I don't use Ghost either. I run CV/Flash nearly 100% of the time, since a Lulu lane doesn't want to force early fights. I think Flash is a must though, because as you know, Whimsy has a very long cooldown, and without Flash you are not only prone to ganks, you tend to do worse against kill lanes. Plus a flash ult on a teammate is the most satisfying thing ever.

Clarity generally just has a bad reputation as a noob spell. I actually scolded my friend because she insisted she needed it when playing mid, which should never be the case. I also personally think it's useless as heck. It's not as useful as Heal (which can be used to bait enemies and turn close fights), and its cooldown is too long to be a source of mana sustain.

I'll say the choice of spell to max is pretty personal. Maxing Q is devastating against people who don't start boots, but I find it taxes your mana more.

Clairvoyance and Clarity together is pretty much a guaranteed lane throw against anyone who isn't a noob. You should always take Flash (or Ghost) along with either Clairvoyance, Heal or Exhaust depending on needs.

I haven't found that to be the case in my fights, but I've changed the summoner spells attached to the build. I disagree with Ghost, since Lulu already has a movement bonus with Whimsy and she shouldn't be the one chasing down enemies anyways. It has too long of a cooldown when she could be choosing other more beneficial spells.

Your skill order - QWQE - is wrong. The first three levels are ALWAYS one pick in each skill, NO EXCEPTIONS, be it QWE (which I usually do), QEW, or EWQ.

I've also changed the skill order to take one point in each level. Thanks for pointing that out, I'd forgotten about it.

And I agree with what Rydia said about the shield. My first six levels are QWEEER. E when used offensively not only has a nice nuke damage, it also sets up your Q.

I do agree with you, sometimes it can be nice to max the shield first. Most people don't expect her shield to be the heavy-hitting ability of her kit. It actually does more damage then Lulu's Glitterlanceat later levels and then you have a somewhat decent shield.

However I prefer to max Q for several reasons. Help, Pix! only targets one enemy. Glitterlance can damage an entire team in a teamfight or at least both people in your lane (if you know how to fire it right). Secondly, the cooldown on her E is longer than her Q, so I prefer to set my damage on it.

This is a very good point. I generally don't take it on her, only in draft when I know we're going to be up against a Mundo or Soraka and my ADC wants to take something else they see as more important. However, I see how this can be easily misconstrued. I've changed the layout of that section to make it clearer, thank you.

CV is a must for me- the vision is just ridiculously useful on such a low cooldown thanks to her masteries, so I personally take it every time.

In her skill sequence section I describe the alternative of maxing her shield second. However, I find that the full time of Whimsy can really help with both escaping and finishing off foes, especially when the enemy is a skilled AD carry and the difference between 1 second and 2.5 is a couple hundred HP. It helps disrupt and turn the tables on junglers ganking the lane, especially.

Some of the content can be improved a lot, add a runes chapter and extend explanations in your items sections. Also you should give some general knowledge about supporting and Lulu's role.

I'll work on these next, thank you!

-headdesk- Fixed. Thanks for catching that. And for your critique!

clarity and heal are so not the best spells for lulu or any other support.
exhaust and flash are the best spells for supports, exhaust is preferable not acceptable.
clarity is not needed for bottom lane. if your excuse for taking it is that your ad needs mana that's wrong, cause he'll just get 50% less which is worthless. especially late game.
same goes with heal.

Exhaust would normally be a good spell for a support, however, Lulu already has a slow with both Whimsy and Glitterlance. The damage reduction is nice, but if you don't overextend the enemy shouldn't be able to pursue you after you use those, so you don't usually need it.

This guide builds Lulu mainly as a support, but with the potential for good damage. She excels at harassing champions with her Q. If you want to starve and harass them to protect your own carry, Clarity can help you keep up the pressure. Also, if you look at my masteries, in this case it restores 70%, not 50%. I do agree that it does lose its value late game. But often times keeping up early harass will cause a competent carry to snowball.

I've added more to when not to take Heal and Clarity after your comments, however, I still find that they are quite viable in many situations.

Thanks everyone for your critique and kind thoughts.

Very impressive designe and insights on Lulu. Your use of coding is superb. Thumbs up and a well-erned +1 from me.

These are minor things however, and already this guide belongs to the best designed I have ever seen.

I like the lay-out of this guide and the fact that it seems to be really beginner-friendly. When starting to play as a support, people often don't know what to do. With this Lulu guide, everything becomes so clear that questions don't need to be asked anymore. :)

I like this champion over-all because of one thing - she doesn't seem like it, but she can be a perfect introduction to the support role. She is a little bit of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to supporting, with a lack of sustain as the only downside.

+1.

I like your guide. Just a few concerns. I think you intend to support, with a little damage, but it is concerning that you take your shield so late, and then max it last. I think it should be maxed right after your 'q' if you wish to support with some damage. Also the fact that you put 'ignite' under acceptable. Under no circustance should you ever put ignite on support, as it is used for last hitting for the kill. It should never ever no matter what ever be taken, unless you intend to go damage, and maybe a little support for ganks. I overall liked you guide though, just those 2 things. If I misunderstood your guide, and it was intended for a pure damage, I suggest not taking 'CV' and instead taking teleport/flash/igite/exhaust. Overall though +1 :)
