Introduction

Talon is definatly one of the most "bursty" AD assassin champion outhere. I will try to show you some builds that I came up while playing this guy intensively. You may or you may not agree with my build, but I'm 100% confident in what I'm posting in here. These builds have been tested and worked in many situation. If you have any suggestions, please post them and I will review them. If I like them, I will include them with your name! Thanks for reading this guide.

Runes

I've always seen runes and masteries as a way to help you "early" game. Most of the time runes will give you small boots that will rarely scale well into late game or basicaly just give you a small small advantage. Since Talon is super squishy I've decided to build him a bit more "tanky" rune wize so that he could sustain and harass in a duo lane.

Greater Mark of Desolation These runes are suited for an AD assassin as it will make you penetrate armor. All those tanky champions will still take alot of damage early on. Also, there isn't alot of armor penetration items, so it's definatly a good choice till late game.

Greater Seal of Armor These runes are suited for lane play only. These do not scale well until late game. Yes they will give you a couple armor... but I doupt it's enough to finish the game unscratched.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist These runes are suited for lane play only. These do not scale well until late game. Yes they will give you a couple magic resist... but I doupt it's enough to finish the game unscratched.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation These runes are suited till late game. As I explained for the marks, armor penetration is pretty good till the end. Stacking more and more runes of penetration = less items needed. You can take all 3 desolation quints and replace my 1x Swiftness if you feel the need for it. I prefer getting a bit more speedy for the early ganks, but thats me. Either runes will do the job.

Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed This rune is to give you a bit of a ganking edge early game. It is not required and it doesn't scale well. If you feel you aren't the type to harass early, you should probably take a 3rd Desolation Quint.

OTHER VALID RUNES

Greater Seal of Attack Speed
Greater Glyph of Attack Speed
These are good to get super gank. If you're going for them, I would suggest that you take all 3 quints of swiftness to get better chances at ganking but beware, Talon is ULTRA squisky and using this build will even make it more squish so use them at your own risks.

Skill Sequence

My skill priority goes like this:
R > W > Q > E

Q = Noxian Diplomacy
W = Rake
E = Cutthroat
R = Shadow Assault

As you can see in my Skill sequence, I prefer taking 1 point into Cutthroat before I take a point into Noxian Diplomacy eventho my priority shows otherwise. Here is why: I have 2 main reasons behind this choices. The first reason is that you can harass with a E+W combo. Basicaly you E on an ennemie creep/champion and than you W on the champions and than you can safely go back to your side, also you can tower dive by walking/flashing and than get back using this skill on a creep. The second reason is cause it's a good escape. You use the E+W combo silencing and slowing the ennemy to make a quick and easy exit. This way you are almost assured to not die in lane!

Also, I started learning Talon with Noxian Diplomacy as second skill... and found out that I don't really want to be in melee before lvl4-6 so why should I take a melee skill before Cutthroat which help at harassing, surviving and creeping!

That being said, it's not game breaking. Take the skill you like, but by level 4 you should have all 3 available skills.
