First I need to say that I'm not bashing your champion (guessing based on icon). But when I say that she is the easiest matchup for Thresh I mean that based entirely on the matchup (meaning we ignore player ability) this is the easiest match up for thresh. That's not to say that any of the matchups are EASY for Thresh. Like you said a good Sona is very able to beat a mediocre Thresh and she certainly has the tools to do so. I also want to say that Sona is not a bad champion when I say that she's the easiest match up for Thresh. When I say that I mean that in comparison to every other support she's the easiest for Thresh, but especially if he misses his pre-6 chance to get some kills she can still be a tough fight.

It could seem I'm trying to protect Sona, but it was not the core of my message. I just disagree with you in your opinion "she's the easiest match up for Thresh". And I ignored player's abilities too, all I wrote was more about Sona's and Thesh's QWER-abilities. I mean, "easy mutch up for Thresh" means something like "Thresh counters Sona", am I right? I don't think that's true, thats why I wrote all this. I think that Sona player will be able to stand well against enemy Thresh player with the same skill and expirience.

Well, there's one thing: IF you hook her. That's not an easy thing. Sona can stay behind creeps and Q's AD carry and Q+AA's Thresh all the day. After lvl 3 she can dodge hooks with E easily. After 6 she can interrupt Thresh's flay in combo "hook+box+flay" with her ult and just stay in the box after being hooked (that makes box useless as a damaging skill) and kill Thresh with her adc (Sona can be killed though, that depends on situation).
Sona also has a very huge damage output if building AP (it's a funny thing, but APC Sona is a better support than Support Sona, if played right), that will make Thresh to build aegis. In my last match Thresh decided not to do that and I could cut the half of his carry's healthbar only with my Q+AA having just LB, sorcerers (bad choice early btw, need CDR more then MP) and EotW. With my adc we killed him in seconds.

tl;dr: Sona isn't the easiest matchup, when she knows what to do.

This looks very bland to me. You got the information alright, but this guide just doesn't captivate me. Try using sombe BB Code to brighten it up a bit (for instance, Relic Shield or Thornmail). Some pictures can also help. You should also try and space your information more, it looks a bit cramped.

Thanks for the feedback! To be honest I don't know any of the BB code so I just chose to write it up without any of it but if it's pretty simple and you happen to have a link or are able to put a few down I would appreciate that!

This matchup is hands down the easiest match up for Thresh. She has to get close enough to get hooked to deal damage, every time you hook her she's dead because she's insanely squishy. Hook her over and over again, kill her over and over again. Ezpz.

First of all, thanks a lot for taking the time to write this guide!

When I use this build, I feel like I get low on mana real fast. After getting Targon's and sightstone, I buy one or two Faerie Charms to get some mana and use those later on to get Mikael's. It does fix the mana problem for me, but I feel like Mikael's is not always a good option to get because it doesn't give me the tank feeling I like about Thresh.

How would you recommend solving the mana issue. Should I just slow down and cast less spells, or do you have a different build recommondation?

Thanks in advance!

Glad you enjoyed reading it! So in the last patch there were two things that hit thresh hard, the first is how his passive only adds bonus armor which LW cuts through 35% of and the second is the one you're noticing with the mana issue. My advice on how to solve it is to do a combination of two things, first is that you always want to have enough mana for your full combo, 80 mana for Q 50 mana for W (while in lane this is) and ~70 mana for your E plus 100 mana if you're post 6 for the box (200 mana or 300 mana post 6). So it's something else you just have to keep track of. If you're below or near the 200/300 mark and you have a say 50/50 shot to land the hook, don't go for it, conserve the mana in case the enemy manage to force an engage, while if you're got mana to spare, go for it. The second is that mana regen is up on almost every champion in the game including thresh, so I'm basically going to recommend doing the same thing, once you get down to that 200/300 mark just try to conserve the mana, but you'll start to notice that if you give it just a minute or two playing passive and not using spells, your pool will fill back up a lot quicker. One alternative I would definitely recommend (especially bronze/silver) is building that glacial shroud a lot sooner than you otherwise would if you just love going for big plays with that hook. The additional CDR helps throughout the game and the item provides a pretty quick powerspike with the armor and mana it gives so I would recommend building that rather than the Faerie charms as there are pretty few times when you can't make some use out of Frozen Heart or Zeke's.
