So, I've been playing LoL for a while and I've noticed that there are A LOT of champions out there and they all have a different playstyle, skill set, strengths, and weaknesses. So then I asked myself, wouldn't it be great if there was a guide out there on how to counter each individual champion? I asked, and then I decided that I would make one.
So, this is a list of champions and the best way to counter each one. If you have any ideas, comments, or concerns, please leave a comment below and I'll be sure to fix it.
The last thing I want to mention is that I may not update this guide for a week or 2 after a champion comes out. This is not because I'm neglectful or lazy, this is because I'm trying to get a feel for it and figure out where the weaknesses are. So hang with me please!
With all that out of the way, here's my guide.

Akali the Fist of Shadow

Akali is a great assassin capable of dealing out AD and AP based attacks while healing herself through lifesteal and spellvamp.
However, she is very squishy, so often times, turning around and bringing the fight to her will quickly take the fight out of her. This technique only works though before she gets a lot of kills. A fed Akali can kill just about anyone.
She has a variety of very damaging skills, however each one costs a good bit of Energy. And while Energy restores quickly, there are no items in game that grant her any bonuses to it. So, if you can survive her initial burst, or wait until it's used, then she becomes very vulnerable and easily killable.
The last thing to talk about it her Twilight Shroud. This is a good escaping or counterattacking tool that good Akalis take frequent advantage of. The way to counter this? The same way to counter any stealth; get an Oracles Elixer. This reveals Akali and leaves her much more vulnerable now that you can poke at her just as much as she's damaging you. Another option if you have an AOE is to just drop it on the shroud. This will most likely hit her at some point.

Hard Counters to Akali: Alistar, Cho'Gath, Dr. Mundo, Jax, Mordekaiser, Nasus, Rammus, Swain, Tryndamere

Alistar the Minotaur

Alistar is a BEAST whenever he has his ultimate active. So, the best and most surefire way to kill him is to wait until it's not active. Keep in mind that this ability reduces all forms of damage (except true) by a percent; so no amount of armor/magic penetration is going to kill him while in this state.
Outside of this state though, it's important to note if he's building a tank build. If so, buying Last Whisper if you're an AD or Void Staff if you're an AP will help a lot.
The last thing to note is his array of CC. These are all on a long CD and cost a lot of mana compared to his available pool. So, wait for him to use them in a teamfight before engaging if you're not able to take it.

Hard counters to Alistar: Amumu, Kog 'Maw, Malzahar, Vayne

Amumu the Sad Mummy

Ammumu is most often played as a jungler, so purchasing a Ward at the entrances to your lane can really snub him out of ganks and therefore gold/exp.
Amumu can close a lot of distance with his Bandage Toss and it's extremely effective if he can hit it. But, it affects the first thing that it hits. So standing behind minions or to the outside of the lane makes it very hard for him to hit you.
Despair does percent of health damage, so when facing him, try to build more armor/magic resistance items as opposed to health items so that he can't affect you as much.

Hard counters to Amumu: Janna, Kog 'Maw, Lee Sin, Lux, Maokai, Vayne, Warwick

Anivia the Cryophoenix

Anivia has one of the largest burst DPS of any player in the game. However, it is all dependent on her hitting the first ability. Her damage output relies on her applying the "chilled" mark so that her Frostbite will deal tons of extra damage. So, avoiding her initial abilities, Flash Frost and Glacial Storm, will mean that you can get out of a large portion of her initial damage.
Another thing to note about Anivia is that after her initial burst, she is largely vulnerable to attacks because all of her skills are on CD. So, make sure to let your tank initiate and take the blows so you can come in and wipe up.
Finally, keep an eye on her Rebirth. This is a turret kill waiting to happen. DO NOT DIVE HER UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THAT HER EGG IS DOWN!

Hard Counters to Anivia- Akali, Caitlyn, Cho'Gath, Heimerdinger, Jax, Kassadin, Le Blanc, Udyr, Warwick, Xerath

Annie the Dark Child

Annie has a huge burst DPS combo. The best way to counter her is to watch for the swirls around her. When you see this, that means that Pyromania is up. Wait for her to cast a spell; otherwise you will get stunned and take the full brunt of her damage. This will hurt and probably kill you.
[[Annie] is a very squishy champion, so as long as you're not hitting her combo, she is relatively easy to bring down.

Hard Counters to Annie- Akali, Anivia, Brand, Caitlyn, Cho'Gath, Corki, Gangplank, Gragas, Irelia, Jarvan IV, Kassadin, Kennen, Kog 'Maw, Le Blanc, Maokai, Miss Fortune, Orianna, Talon, Tryndamere, Twisted Fate, Urgot, Veigar, Xerath, Xin Zhao
