It might be beneficial to mention Quinn in your "Gap Closers" section. Zyra's Grasping Roots does not stop Quinn mid- Vault.

Do you know zyra is the only champ can destroy teemo Mus without oracle's elixir ? It's like Minesweeper
I think you should post this on your guide

Your guide is really helpful and your pro-active build fits my own playstyle. Thanks for sharing, here's an upvote.

I tried it out in a ranked game yesterday and had great success. My ADC was awful but this build allowed me to keep being useful in team-fights besides offering peel.

Nice guide! I actually don't like the idea of supports going ap(nida supp soloQ...), but I tried this and it was great fun. Too bad she's so damn squishy, but that's not your fault I suppose :P
Also, in the end section:

hat concludes the guide.
Hats off ^^

1) The issue I have being too aggressive is that many times I get bursted down, which the points in the Defensive tree might have saved me for. But now thinking back on it, I was probably just out of position for a bit too long.

2) Oh, did not realize that Grasping Roots had an increased duration with level. Hm, that makes much more sense now.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Well organized, easy to understand, and a favorable guide to read if one wants to play Zyra and win a convivial victory. Won my first game by a landslide. Thanks!

1) Defense tree is fine too, but you can be incredibly aggressive with offensive tree, so idk what you mean by "too aggressive".
2) Maxing the CDR skill first means you have no lane presence. Grasping Roots both increases the skill base damage and increases the root duration which helps you setup for Stranglethorns.

Hey,

Very pretty guide and extremely informative. Thank you for your work! ^_^

Tho I had a few questions. While I tend to play Zyra support more as a "mini-AP carry support", I find myself splitting off into the defensive mastery tree on my Zyra as she seems immensely fragile during the initial laning phase (+30 health and +6 armor goes a long way at early skirmishes). While the offensive masteries do look promising, isn't it a bit of risk not running the defensive masteries?

[Tho this just may be a problem of being too aggressive during laning]

Also, what is the theory behind maxing Grasping Roots first? The main purpose of the spell seems to be the utility of it, and it doesn't gain a cdr so wouldn't the points in Deadly Bloom or even Rampant Growth be preferable?

Your guide was a good read and it is much appreciated!

Hahahah <3 Half the rep point was for this fantastic guide, and the other half a point went to this comment.

Really though, it's informative and beautiful. :D If I get a bit more time off this week, I'm gonna try some of that shiny new bbc coding that you've got going on here!

I have never supported in my life before and using your guide I went 0-1-5 in a ranked silver one game. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
