Introduction
I made this guide because I think rumble is underused and he is actually really good.
Why should Rumble be used more often?
1. Highest win rate according to lolking.
2. He counters alot of champions.
3. He is a yordle.
When going top lane, you probably already know it, you should ALWAYS buy wards.
A good start for top lane is: A flask, A health potion and 1 ward, but since were Rumble and we don't need mana, we get 9 health potions and 2 wards.
When laning against Heavy AD champions like:
You could start with a cloth armor 1 ward and 2 health potions

Going over to his spells.
Rumble does not use mana, He has a unique mechanism called 'Heat'.
You gain 20 heat by using all spells except for his ult.
For advanced players: You should try staying in the danger zone without overheating.
You will do extra damage in the danger zone.
His first spell: Flamespitter. It does magical damage in a small cone in front of him. It also does 35% extra damage when in danger zone. You can still use all spells while this is activated.
His second spell: Scrap shield. Rumble shields himself and gains a movement speed boost for a short amount of time. Wehn in danger zone the shield and movement speed boost are increased for 30%
His third spell: Electro harpoon. A skillshot that deals damage and slows enemies. You can ALWAYS fire 2 electro harpoons, even when Rumble is overheating, withing 3 seconds
His fourth spell: The Equalizer. Click and drag skillshot, which slows by 35% and deals magical damage over time to all enemies standing on the trail.

Early game you should try to harras and poke your enemy.
When you reach level 3 you can start playing aggressive.
Try not to overheat too much as you won't be able to do much.
When laning against Darius:
You should play aggresively until he reaches level 6. Try to deny him last hits as he will soon get Mercury's Treads or a Hexdrinker.
Try to kite him and if it is necessary you can always adapt the build or as for ganks.
When laning against Rengar:
You should be able to win with ease, but keep an eye to his ferocity.
When laning against Xin Zhao:
He is quite annoying to lane against, but you can outplay him.
You should rush Ninja Tabi. Once you're level 6 you can try to kill him. Play carefully as Xin Zhao has got some bursts and a knock-up
When Laning against Jayce:
Dodge his power balls. When you reach level 4-5 you can start to harras Jayce. Ninja Tabi and Seeker's Armguard are good against him. You can always ask for ganks and be careful when Jayce gets a Brutalizer.
