How to play Teemo
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
So before I start, I just wanted to mention that I have been building and correcting this Teemo build for almost 4 seasons now. I have played AD and AP Teemo, as well as Hybrid and Jungle Teemo. This is the result of my hard work.
When in game, remember one general rule. If you can get so stacked that they surrender after 35 minutes, you have done your job.
Last thing before you start reading the actual guide, I promise. I hear all the time that "Teemo doesn't take any skill" and that Teemo is cancer, etc. Teemo is an easy champion to go 30-5 with but hard to Win rounds with unless you are very good with him. So my advice is, if you want to go Teemo main, then you better play him all the time and test your own builds.
With that being said, enjoy.
These items are picked extremely carefully, and for good reason. First, for Sorcerer's Shoes. It is pretty obvious that unless you build Tanky, Teemo late game is very soft. He will get destroyed if not played right. This means that you need both insane magic damage / AP scaling, but you also need a **** ton of mobility for kiting. Your W helps a lot with this, but Shoes that provide both are amazing.
Next is Hextech. Now, depending on how your early game farming went, you are either 0-4 or 4-0. Hextech will make the 0-4 situation into a 8-4 situation and a 4-0 situation into a 15-0 situation in which the enemy starters calling you trash.
After your third recall, head to the Jungle. With Hextech by your side, you are going to shred through monsters, and because of the healing passive, you aren't going to lose any health. It also allows you to get buffs easier, and we all know what Blue Buff + Teemo makes.
The next item is Luden's. Now, the funny thing about Luden's is that you have this nice little passive ability. When you hit an entity with AP, it transfers it to 2 other entities within that radius every 4 or so hits. This makes it extremely easy to win team fights, especially with his Q and E comboes.
The rest is very self explanatory. The RF is for that extra DMG and AS, and the Deathcap is for the AP.
ONE THING TO NOTE ABOUT TEEMO'S E THAT WILL CHANGE ANY BUILD PATH. WHEN YOU USE HIS E, IT ADDS ON MORE AP TO EACH AUTO ATTACK. THIS MEANS THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO BUILD DMG, I ONLY DO BECAUSE I AM SWEATY.
The common sequence that I use is a Q to lead into it, I throw down 2 shrooms below them and then auto attack. If it is a team fight, I will do the same thing, but Ignite the strongest player thus far. So just to recap,
4/5 Auto Attacks to get the E going
W after them if they run
Q as they run
When you are in battle, SPAM your Q. If you hit it, there goes 300-500 HP.
So is first, second, and third blood.
But in all seriousness, I have around 250 - 300 CS per game. With a **** ton of kills, I am able to rank up faster and thus deal a **** ton with my auto attacks and my E.
Farming is everything, W / Flash combo is key, sty the **** away from Lux at all costs, Ignite is your best friend, and KILL KILL KILL.
My average Teemo game nowadays is 23-7 and the enemy surrendering. This isn't a realistic goal to set for yourself, especially if you are new. So just keep practicing and you will become the Teemo master.
