Hi everyone, this is my first guide for league of legend, for this guide I chose Sejuani because I really love play her since her rework and I have my own idea on this champion.

Here, I will teach you how to build and play her in early or in teamfight. But it's not the only way to play Sejuani, it's just my build and I think a lot of people have the same ! This build is good because he make you a tank but with enough damages to not be ignored in teamfight.

But let me introduce myself, My name is Kratoslesadique (don't ask me why, it's a long story), I play on EUW serv (OMFG STFU FRENCH BAN HIM) and I started LoL one and an half years ago. The most of time, I don't play alone but with my friends to have a great coordination which is necessary with champions like Sejuani.

Sumoner's Spells

This guide, is a guide for Sejuani in jungle so you must take the Smite because Sejuani can't jungle without it. Use it often ! In fact it give some golds with Summoner's Resolve but becarefull because you must have it up when your team want to do dragon or baron .

Ghost is my favorite spell to jungle with Sejuani because your ganks are very strong with it. You can use it as an escape (but you already have Arctic Assault), or, as a powerful steroid of movement speed to gank. Don't forget that Ghost is increase by Summoner's Wrath .

You can also use Flash instead of Ghost to have a better escape. It can be good because as Sejuani you are weak in your jungle and it's easy for Vi, Xin Zhao, Volibear, Kha'Zix (or others) to kill you. In this case, Flash can be better than Ghost, but it will not help you to gank.

Explanation :

Take Greater Mark of Attack Damage as marks on Sejuani is a good choice because they up your AA damage so you can clear the jungle fastly. You can also take Greater Mark of Attack Speed to increase your attack speed because it work good with the passive of Permafrost. If you want you can take Greater Mark of Ability Power to increase all your damages, especially Flail of the Northern Winds in jungle but Sejuani have pretty long CD at the beginning and I think it's less efficiency than Greater Mark of Attack Damage.

For obvious reason, you must take Greater Seal of Armor as your seals because they will help you a lot to clean the jungle and give you more resistance during gank.

As glyph, you have to take some magic resist, so you have two choice, Greater Glyph of Magic Resist or Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist. In my opinion, Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is better because in early, the most of damages are physical (in jungle for example) so magic resist is not very useful in early. That's why I think Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is better.

Like I said before, Sejuani is slow, so I think Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed is the better choice on Sejuani because it help you to gank better, clean faster and have more escape when the enemy jungler chase you.



Explanation :

There is not a lot of things to explain, as Sejuani you are a tank, so you have to put points in the defensive tree.

9/21/0 is good for Sejuani

I take the runic shield because it's useful at the begining in the jungle but if you don't like this masteries you can take Tenacious instead.

Brute Force increase your auto attack so it's nice for a jungler.

Expose Weakness Is a very good point for ganks.

Frost armor

Damaging an enemy with an ability or basic attack grants Sejuani 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 bonus armor and reduces movement-slowing effects on Sejuani by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 % for 2 seconds. Subsequent damage will increase the duration by 2 seconds up to a cap of ~8 seconds, where after damage will refresh the duration.

Frost Armor is your passive, it make you a very good jungler because your armor grow when you hit monsters and give you more sustain when you gank or in teamfight.

Arctic assault

Sejuani charges forward, knocking enemies into the air and dealing 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+40% of ability power) plus 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 % of the target's maximum health as magic damage (max 300 damage to monsters). This charge stops after knocking an enemy champion into the air.

Arctic Assault make you charge forward and knocking an enemy. This ability is very efficient to engage a teamfight or a gank.

Flail of the northern winds

Sejuani's next basic attack deals 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 (+30% of ability power) bonus magic damage to the target and enemies near it. She then swings her flail, dealing 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 16% of bonus health) (+60% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies over 4 seconds. If this ability is reactivated, Sejuani immediately starts swinging her flail.

Flail of the Northern Winds is your main ability when you are cleaning your jungle and when you want to deal damage. In fact, this ability deal damages with percent in aoe, with it in addition with Sunfire Cape, you make enough damage to not be ignored in teamfight even if you are a tank.


Passive: Sejuani's abilities and basic attacks apply Frost to enemies for 4 seconds.

Active: All nearby enemies with Frost take 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+50% of ability power) magic damage and are slowed by 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 % for 2 / 2.25 / 2.5 / 2.75 / 3 seconds.

Permafrost is really useful, all of your slowing effect are in this ability. The passive of this spell make your AA and your abilities apply Frost on the enemy. But Frost will not slow the enemy ! When Permafrost is activate, all the enemy with frost are snare. That's mean that you must touch a maximum of enemy before use Permafrost. Be careful, a bad using of this spell can make your team miss kills !

Glacial prison

Sejuani throws her frost-forged bola in a line. If the bola hits an enemy champion, it shatters, stunning the target and nearby enemies for 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds. If the bola reaches its maximum range, it shatters and slows enemies by 90% instead.

All enemies in the shatter area take 150 / 250 / 350 (+80% of ability power) magic damage.

Glacial Prison is your ultimate, it is very powerful but you have to use it smartly. This ultimate allow you to initiate teamfight staying outside of the enemy team, but if you do that, be sure that your team will follow you because if it's not the case, your ultimate will be wasted.

Explanation :

There is the basic starting build for junglers. Sweeping Lens is a very good item for you because it can spot wards to make your ganks easiers. And at the end of the game it's an oracle.

First back :

Explanation :

Make sure you can afford that at your first back. If it's not the case, you take the risk to be late in your jungle. Spirit Stone is for jungling and Boots of Speed are for gank.

Core item's :

Spirit of the Ancient Golem

Sunfire Cape

Warmog's Armor

Explanation :

You must have these items to be very efficient. First buy Boots of Mobility to have more mobility in your jungle which allow you to do a lot of ganks.

Then, upgrade your Spirit Stone into the Spirit of the Ancient Golem to have more health, cooldown reduction and more damage with Flail of the Northern Winds.

The next item that you must have is the Sunfire Cape. It give you health and armor to make you tanky and the passive is useful to clean jungle, push or depush a lane. It is also good in teamfight with Flail of the Northern Winds you will deal a not insignificant quantity of damage even if you are a tank.

Finish with Warmog's Armor it's good because you will have a lot of health and a good synergy with Flail of the Northern Winds but you have a little gap in magic resist and armor. But it's not so serious because Frost Armor will help you.

Explanation :

Liandry's Torment is a very good choice on Sejuani if you want to do more damages. In fact, the passive of Liandry's Torment match perfectly with Flail of the Northern Winds and Permafrost.

If you have several AP in your team and if you need more damages, at that time Abyssal Scepter is a good choice because it increase the damages of all AP in your team and give you some magic resist to be more tanky.

If your team have already good damages and if the enemy team have a lot of AD damages, you can buy Iceborn Gauntlet or Frozen Heart like you want. But Frozen Heart is a good choice if the enemy team have some Phantom Dancer or Statikk Shiv and Iceborn Gauntlet will give you more damages and CC.

If you have a gap of magic resist, you can buy Twin Shadows to have more snare, more AP and more movespeed.

Locket of the Iron Solari is also a good defensive item for Sejuani but I think that this item is better for a support ! I think that you have to buy this item only if your support don't make it.

Don't forget Oracle's Lens, this item is really useful if there is a champion like Akali, Talon, Teemo, Twitch in the game.

Jungling with Sejuani

Jungle route

  1. You must start with ancient golem who appear at 1:55, your partners have to help you but be sure that you will kill the ancient golem . Since the season 4, the Smite CD have been reduce so you must use it on the ancient golem as soon as the mob apear.
  2. Then, you must go to the wolves .
  3. If you have use your smite as I said it going to be ready soon. So go to the new mob and kill him with Smite.
  4. Go to the wraith , they are very easy with Sejuani, in fact, use Flail of the Northern Winds on the big one, make sure that all the little have Frost then use Permafrost and finish.
  5. You still have your Smite, so go to lizard elder to get the red buff , if your masteries and runes are OK you will kill it using one potion and your Smite.
  6. You have the red buff and your Arctic Assault so it's time to gank ! Use you Sweeping Lens to check the bush and if there is a ward, destroy it and try to come later but fastly.
  7. Next camp you have to clean is the one with small golem . It can be difficult but no worries, just only use Flail of the Northern Winds on the big one, then Permafrost and kill them.
  8. It's time to back, normally you can buy your Spirit Stone and your Boots of Speed
  9. Kill the wolves again.
  10. Gank mid or top.
  11. Gank the other lane
  12. Continue as you want.

This way to jungle work but if you prefer another way, do it.

Don't forget to give the second blue buff to your mid !

How to gank

Gank as Sejuani is very easy because I think she is one of the best ganker in the game. Just wait for good positioning of your target, then rush (with Ghost if you want) use Arctic Assault then Permafrost and finish with Flail of the Northern Winds, normally, the poor guy is dead. Rest in peace.

Team Work

Sejuani is a tank. So, you are a big advantage for your team but you are useless when you are alone. That's why the team work is very important.

In early game

In early game you just have to clean your jungle, make gank and give the blue buff to your mid if he need it.

Don't try to do the enemy jungle if you don't know where is the enemy jungler because Sejuani is very weak for countering enemy jungle.

Mid/Late game

Now, you are a tank with powerful CC and with a very good initiating capacity. You can initiate teamfight with Glacial Prison but only if your team is close of the enemies because your team is not ready, your will be useless. But if you are close to the enemies, for example, during baron , dragon or when you do a trap, you can initiate with Glacial Prison. But you must try to get at least three enemies with Glacial Prison including the most dangerous.

If you can't initiate with Glacial Prison because of the position of players don't worry. Initiate with Arctic Assault tank a little to waiting your team, then use Glacial Prison to froze a maximum of people and kill them all.

The stun of Glacial Prison long for two seconds and the effect Frost from the passive of Permafrost long for four seconds. So, when you initiate a teamfight, don't use Permafrost just after Glacial Prison but only when the stun is gone. If you do that, enemies will be stun for two seconds then slow for three seconds, five seconds of full CC, it's amazing.

So, most of time, you have to initiate with Arctic Assault then use Glacial Prison when your team is ready, wait two seconds and when the stun is gone, use Permafrost followed by Flail of the Northern Winds.

When you have done all that thing, you are in the middle of the teamfight, tanking and dealing good damages with Flail of the Northern Winds, Sunfire Cape and maybe Liandry's Torment. But your job is not finish yet ! During the rest of the teamfight you must try to protect your carry using your CC like Arctic Assault and Permafrost.

That's all I have to say about teamfighting as Sejuani.
