Since the patch forced her to go hybrid (According to Elementz). This optimizes best of both worlds, AP + AD for maximum damage output. I have tested both pure ap and ad, and it just doesn't measure up as much as it use to because of the nerfs to Bouncing blade and 33% dmg reduction overall to her ult. (I use to get up her dagger doing 350-380 dmg per on ult, with this build maxed late game it only goes to near 275-300.) I used these masteries and runes to optimize your survivability as well as add a boost your damage output (Magic Penetration Runes + Archaic Knowledge) and to give you a little more hitpoints on the starting area. I used the skill order to max out bouncing blades so you can farm gold alot easier. You might think this is impossible to farm up, but I have farmed over 24,000 gold, (24,444 to be exact) in one game, and have screenshot if needed. Rushing Void staff after your first hextech gets rid of the tanks with Force of Nature problem, and by the time you finish the void staff they will almost finish their Force of Nature. And the best part about Hextech GB's is its like having a 3rd summoner spell (Exhaust). Except it adds 10% more slow. The combination I use is: Shunpo in, Click Hextech GB on target, Ult, Ignite, and once the enemy is reaching the edge of your ultimate range, throw dagger, and vuella, dead everytime. You take massive chunks out of the enemy once you complete your first GB. From then on out with void staff and more GB's you do more and more and more devastating damage. You can literally cycle through entire teams after getting kill after kill. You can always substitute a Zhonya for a Leviathan if needed, or Banshee's Veil. But by that time, you should be 1 rounding people like nothing. They really won't have a say in the matter when it comes to a fight. Just "Omg, what the hell just happened....?" I have gotten quadra upon quadra with this build, which I never did with AP. I believe I successfully turned this nerf as some might say, into a buff. Since now Bouncing Blades with this build will do like 400-500 damage and your ultimate will do 2-2750 dmg, and Shunpo around 600 end game. Still not as much damage as heat's shunpo that on pre-nerf Pure ap fully mejai maxed out Katarina, but we make do with what we can. So all and all she has not become that nerfed in my opinion, I see it more as a buff. Still massive damage, able to dominate players like no other, farm IP very well, and a very good teamplayer especially when it comes to wiping out the entire enemy team. She is still my favorite hero, I usually go 10-20+/1-5 with hero every game. Only character other then jax I have gotten quadra kills with. (Jax I got a penta kill, so far only hero I have ever done that with lol). But hopefully you can find this guide somewhat useful. I will be excepting all feedback. Please don't flame, be polite.
