Threats to Akali with this build
Important: if you don't do the exact guide this build will not work!
Akali is a very powerful weapon when you play her right. Her passive and abilities allows her to fill several roles. Ad/Tanky Akali is not common and when you pick top lane Akali it is very easy to get flames. But you can deal with many good top lane meta players. For example Riven, Renekton and Garen will not be problem anymore.
Beware!!! Gameplay of Ad/Tanky Akali is totally different from AP Akali. First of all you are not an assasin anymore! You are more like a very mobile tank who slows everybody in the area while dealing some aoe damage/sustain.
Why Iceborn Gauntlet you will not even use its mana!?!?
-you will get this flame alot get used to it :)
Why Build Ad/Tanky Akali?
- Well you gotta build ad cause it works great with Iceborn Gauntlet which is the main item of this build.
-your e gets bigger with ad
-ad gives you spellwamp (every 6 ad gives you %1 spellwamp)
-Hydra + Iceborn Gauntlet + your w + your e skill gives you alot of aoe sustain and damage.
How To play Ad/Tanky Akali?
-You are not an assassin anymore so you shouldnt wait your cds in your w anymore. Keep your auto attacks up and use your cds whenever you can. While dealing multiple enemies use your w and keep aa. After you build Iceborn/Hydra/Rylai nobody can escape from you even with flash. So use it wise and gank mid and bot lane. Your R (3 stacks), Iceborn Gauntlet aoe slow passive and Rylai slow effect on spells = no escape! use it!
Early Game / Laning Phase
- In lvl 1 with Doran's Blade you outdamage most of the top lane champions except Teemo, Riven and Gankplank (their lvl 1 dmg are insane) so use it to make some really agressive plays in lvl 1. Go clear some enemy mobs fast and trade with your opponents (use ignite if you opponent have 1 pot)
-In lvl 2-3-4-5 play defensive as much as you can. Farm under your turret and wait some ganks from your jungler.
-After lvl 6 and Sheen wait your 3 stacks of ult and go nuts on your opponents if you are not far behind on cs/lvl
Pros / Cons
+You can deal with many strong champions in 1v1 lane
+Global Taunt (everybody wants to attack an Akali who used r to their adc)
+Ppl wanna burst you down with ultimates but suprise you are a tanky aoe spellwamper!
+Good in aoe spellwamp + w gives magic resist/armor which you need most in crowded tfs
+If you get your enemies attention in teamfights good! keep chasing enemy adc with your 3 stacks of ult/Iceborn Gauntlet/Rylai Passive
-if you lose your lane you cant go in tfs
-weak againist apcarries (in 1v1)
-very hard to play since we are all used to AP Akali Burst
-you get flamed when you dont deal instant dmg (but your role is totally different ppl dont even understand)
-If your team doesn't understand that you are tanking enemy damage (which happens a lot) you will have no use in teamfights.
Showing the difference between two builds on Baron. You will notice that tanky Akali doesn't even lose hp while dealing with baron but damage is lower. Also keep in mind that this build more powerful vs several opponents. So soloing baron is not showing the true power of this build. This build is more stronger while fighting vs 2-3 opponents since your e skill, hydra passive and Iceborn Gauntlet passive deals aoe damage. And while you are dealing aoe damage you get spellwamp. So pick fights where your opponents catch your teammates in 1v2 and 2v3 positions and jump into fight to take attention/aggro to yourself and enjoy your sustain+aoe damage while your teammates join fight.
Please nevermind the language and farm phase between two builds :) I ll add new videos soon!
