Katarina Build Guide by ilke994

Wow thanks for this 1st time using your build and I got 24/6/14 those below are my other builds but not that good like urs

my first three games with Katarina xD. Thanks for a great guide, really helped me out!

Katarina is the second champ i bought. OKAY, i have to say that the first was Yi and i didn't play him a lot... I was a noob and a lot of peoples said i was a feeder (And i didn't know what it means... I am french :p)... So, the result with Yi was bad (Killing turrets, OK, i can, but how the **** do you want me to kill ennemies ?) and i thought coop VS IA was very difficult game.

Then i bought Kata like i said. This was... AMAZING. I mean, it was an amazing negative score all the games with her, so beautiful that it was hardcore to win against so fed ennemies for my friends. And when i played without premade that was a disaster too..

Then, i played some champs, Jax (Dominion Freewin and i stopped before his stun nerf...), Nocturne (In lane, because i don't like jungling and i didn't try because i was so bad first times... But how amazing scores i get... Positive this time :D), Caitlyn (Tested her at free weeks, but omg what is this champ ? Soooo good in early/mid/late game... And lane-dominating..) And then Kata again. And at THIS MOMENT, i realised her power.

What is this Kata ? Do she really needs her ulti to kill ? Doble on doble, triple on triple, and then quadra... She is, in reality, a good counter to many mid champs, and nothing against her counters (Huehuehuehue !)... She needs her ulti to begin the game. Then, after one or two kills, her first skill and her shunpo are sufficient to deal a lot of damages. But, of course, when you see a good situation to place the ult, you can try a pentakill... And when you fail it you can quadra x)

One time for example, i used ulti on ONE people. Then, i saw 3 other ennemies fighting around (The last was AFK... Bad to me and their team..) with my teammates. Killer Instinct, Bouncing blade (Doble), Shunpo (Triple), Bouncing blade + Shunpo (Quadra), and all these kills with only one person ultied. So, no, our Death Lotus isn't necessary at the end, just an option. Why peoples are flaming when you pick Kata in ranked ? Why peoples say Kata is a freekill ? Just see one and die and then say "Omg so op". And i've to say that Katarina is easy to stop when you don't play her good... But she is a fcking NINJA in the other case and so funny to play. Just try and stop saying fool things :)

Also Eclipse of Life, I agree with you but some people just rage, it's like picking Evelynn, everything is on you, all deaths are your fault and even jungler hates you no matter the score, the help, anything. xD

I don't know playing Evelynn, i think it is hard to play her.. Seems to be viable AP and AD but i don't like to deal damages only with one skill and to spam an other. One time i saw an AD Evelynn, for these reasons i can understand, but she was able to kill us (not finishing, killing) only in late game. So, she had to kill-steal early and mid :/

Anyway i don't play at your ELO, i just began and i am in the ELO hell, lol. I stopped playing ranked because peoples are raging when the ennemies play better than you and outfarms you (I saw an Ezreal when i played Caitlyn... I just fed a lot xD) and when i began to play Kata again i won more games in normal mode. Most of the games i think i can say. But i didn't get a Penta for the moment.

I just think that Katarina is probably the most balanced champ on the game. It needs more skills to play than many (the most) other champs, because you uses your objects (Wards, gunblade... I have to learn to play with, but i have good results without), you can flash+shunpo (I did it in my last game... In 3V3, i was in my base and Kog was harrassing us. I used Flash throught the wall and then Shunpo and i killed him so easy xD), you can escape a lot of deathly situations if you are good... And the passive is the way to use your brain too, with good reflexes. I think Kata is a champ who need reflexes first and brain secondly, because of her passive and the timings she needs to ulti.

OK, most of peoples says she is a bad champ, and i already said what it is wrong. But some others says she is OP. I'm not agree, because to beat her you just have to be more intelligent. But, OK, i think Amumu's ulti can be OP with her... Have to test it.

I have to say that i don't play her with wards at the moment. I am a noob and i don't like buying other items than my stuff, and i think i have to learn it (i tried ward playing and it is not easy for the first time, it need new reflexes... Again.)

But i want to have an information which can help me to choose my lane... You played a lot Katarina, do you know her counters ?

Been using this build for about a week, and it works wonderfully. As far as the build order, after the gunblade you can assess your needs, be it AP, armor or magic resist. Just keep pressure on with the bouncing blades, stay mobile with shunpo, reserve your ult for after they've used their stuns, and watch the rage happen. Been able to consistently get triple kills 2 or 3 times per game. Fantastic build that produces consistently good results. Thanks so much!

First time I tried this build I got two single double kills and one quadra kill, it works perfectly! However it's all explained well and well written. Great work on this build, keep it up!

Mid and top, weird enough I prefer mid and Tiensi prefers top. Counters are obvious, Renek is direct counter to Kata for example, anything with load of stuns and dashesy ou could say Ahri but so far I managed to own them foxes

really nice guide. i tried it out as soon as i saw it topped even the previous first rated kata guide and i gotta say: its really really worth it, even though i had to buy the expensive hp/lvl runes first xD before i was like: boots -> revolver -> rylai + maxing shunpo first and now: boots -> gunblade -> rabadon + maxing q first. in most games i dont even get so far as to buy the gunblade anymore because the enemies surrender. gotta try this in ranked as well but im kinda stuck in the low elo ****tyness Q.Q
