Introduction

There's a lot of ways to Xin Zhao. Some people might prefer a damagebuild, some like it tanky. Above all it's very dependend of what the enemy team is doing. In this series of Xin Zhao builds I'm going to give some examples of different builds for various occasions.

This build

Lately I have been getting lots and lots of bad team compositions in what many people prefer to call the ELO Hell. If you choose to play Xin Zhao at any time, and your team is lacking certain tankyness, it's never too late to choose Xin.

You can annoy allmost infinite with the dashing, knockup and repeating of this combo with your W. I tend to get my E first, best in combination with a stun of heavy damage character, to ensure a possible first blood.

If I had to describe this guide in one sentence it would be "Tanky with a suprising amount of damage". I find that in a lot of games, tanky DPS is strong enough to do a lot of damage, even with under 200 AD endgame. Also, you don't have to depend as much on your ingame tank. If he fails, there's still a lot of work you can put into the teamfights.

Items

While I think the order of buying the items still depends a bit on the game, I've set up a base progession of buying. This often times works well if you want to be tanky early game, I find that if you have tanks that are not doing their job properly that extra health from an early warmogs is a good option. After that just build the atma's and proceed with a BF sword for some damage. Xin Zhao is useless without a bit of damage.

Farming/Early Game

Since I just want people to try this build instead of boring you to death with endless pieces of literature, I will be brief. Make sure to harass the opponent (be a bit more careful if you're up against two ranged), Xin is an ideal character for scaring of people earlygame. If you are laning with a squishy, you must not be afraid to take some hits from the opponents.

Runes & Masteries

I actually use my jungle Xin Zhao runes a lot for my builds for my sturdy Asian friend. Lot's of armor pen, combined with some extra AD, armor and magic resist. This will give you a base tankyness that is hard to deal with for opponents, while still maintaining enough damage output, due to increased armor penetration.

Masteries aren't that special, just taking full armor pen in offense, while maxing the defensive stats in defense.

Items Variations/Honorable mentions

If the game does not proceed as you want it or this build is simply not what you're looking for in a Xin Zhao build, there are off course other items to use on Xin that boost his performance perfectly.

For instance, for some more survivability inlane of during midgame teamfights u can alter the build to go for a Wriggle's. Wit's end is also a very good option, the combination of attackspeed and magicresist is allways a safe choice.

NOTE: I also have a paper Xin build, if you're confident you're not gonna die and are ready to get some triple- or maybe pentakills (it can be done) you should definitely try that out...

I hope I've been helpfulp in some way, and good luck playing with this lovely champ.
